Nothing really official there on special features…which is the only reason i will buy dvd’s theese days.
Some commentaries with Dick Warlock,Rick Rosenthal ,or Jamie Lee would really be great for this release

So what mask is that on the cover? Kind of looks like a h78.
YES!!! I CANNOT WAIT TO GET THIS!!!
-tom.
Glad to see the “Terror in the Aisles” documentary being included. I haven’t seen that since I was a teenager. Also glad Echo Bridge isn’t handling this one. The Halloween 1 blu ray was great, this one should be no different.
I wonder if the “Behind the Scenes” documentary/featurette is what was shown on Entertainment Tonight like ten or so years ago. I remember they showed a clip of the “Elevator Scene” being filmed.
I wonder if there’s going to be any deleted scenes that we’ve never seen before, like either ones from the script, novel, still pictures or all three.
I wonder if they’re going to include alternate scenes as well. I’d love for those to be on there, in addition to Trailers, Radio Spots, Television Spots, Still and Poster Galleries, Commentary and/or Commentaries, introduction(s), Interview(s), Blooper Reel and/or Gag Reel (if any)
Great news! This movie really deserved a decent release.
It’s about time!
I would love to see that Entertainment Tonight piece but I’m afraid it won’t be. I know there was quite a bit of interview footage and the sort offered but the company gave a firm “no thanks” as a reply.
As far as the deleted scenes I’m REALLY hoping on this but again very fearful it won’t be. My understanding is there is oly going to be a focus on upgraded sound and picture and the special features will be nothing that we haven’t already seen before. I hope this is NOT the case as the features you describe would be a dream come true!
In particular I’d love to see some of the footage lost before Carpenter came in and did reshoots.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best & expect the worst.
Yeah you would think they could of got a Pic of the actual H2 mask from Dick Warlock for the cover. You know he has some from right after the movie was made before it started to deteroite.
I hope this Blu Ray version is not as bad as H6/H20 blu ray versions. I hope they make a new blu ray version for these two.
Whoa! I can’t wait till that comes out thats my favourite Halloween movie thanks for the notice.
While its great news they are finally releasing this Blu-ray version that ive been waiting on for some time one thing im pretty sure of is all our high expectations of what we are hoping for in additions will not be met,and they will fail to deliver in those key areas which is same old same old,its kinda like certain new console games that are deemed the best game since sliced bread’ you see it getting reviewed and played you have high hopes but once you get it and play it its like your excitement is soon diminished because it doesn’t live up anywhere near you’re expectations and you end up wondering what the hell all the fuss was about, hope im wrong here but i doubt i am so remember these words.
No Rob Zombie here kids. Universal has officially announced plans to bring the original 1981 horror film sequel “Halloween II” to Blu-ray Disc on September 13th — just in time for the holiday itself; Halloween. The release will come in the …form of a “30th Anniversary Edition“. Tech specs for the release include full 1080p Hi-Def video and DTS 5.1 “Processed Surround” and 2.0 Stereo sound — sadly no DTS-HD MA will be present it appears; but this could be a typo. The title is not yet available for pre-order over at Amazon but stay tuned and we will keep you updated as to when it does. The bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.
New Features:
Alternate Ending
Terror In the Aisles Documentary
Behind the Scenes/Deleted Scenes
Pocket BLU App
UPDATE: I’m really hoping the info I read earlier regarding this only containing DTS turns out to be false; as I’d love to see this NOT be Universal‘s first film to NOT receive a lossless (DTS-HD MA) mix. Someone please correct me here if that is the case; namely someone from Universal!
Up for pre-order at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Halloween-II-Blu-ray/dp/B0058S0OMS/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1309475312&sr=1-2
Really amazing news now we can all watch the shape in hi-def
Now im just hoping h6 producers cut comes out in blu-ray
Very cool news!!
I don’t see why the deleted scenes wouldn’t be included on this DVD. I mean, why wouldn’t they? Doesn’t Universal own them and/or own the rights to them? Why would they have the alternate/deleted ending and not the scenes? The only other thing I could think of is that those other deleted scenes are incorporated into the movie, like the Halloween Extended Television Version DVD.
I wonder if Rick Rosenthal knows about this, and or has any involvement with this. Maybe he’s providing the deleted scenes. If not, I wonder if he heard about it this forthcoming DVD release.
I really hope they actually spent some time and actually gave us the best transfer possible. From what I’ve heard, the Blu-Ray versions of H6 and H20 are terrible, bordering on bad DVD transfers.
Heard about this and now I’m officially happy! finally Universal actually answered our prayers for some sort of re-release of Halloween II. I almost feel that this film doesn’t get the credit it deserves. I mean the Halloween 4/5 gets re-released alot and enhanced with HD quality. Also Demension needs to release the Halloween 6: Producer’s Cut at some point, where I don’t have to pay so much like $60 on Ebay/Amazon to get it.
Isn’t that the Warlock mask on the cover?
This is fantastic, but I do hope the quality is up to par, I guess we’ll find out. Thank’s for the update. …ANDY
