This 4 stamp “Nightmare Man 78 Proto” belongs to my buddy Kris (TheShapeShifter). This particular mask/copy has always been my single favorite Myers mask since day one! So when Kris asked me about reworking it I was honored to say the least! Everything that I did to this mask was done with “Hero” authenticity as priority. I used a totally new paint technique and the very best paint and mixtures to insure a lasting, vintage looking “post H1 scheme”. I hand dyed the mohair to be a tad lighter than the closet scene, then lightly misted black to give it an accurate look and feel. I must say that I am 100% satisfied with the way that it turned out and that is strong words coming from me! My photo skills aren’t that great as you all know but these pics do show this mask exactly as it is in person which is very important to me. Some of the pics are with flash, some inside, some outside and about any other way I could think of. Sorry for so many pics guys, but I felt that this particular mask deserved it.
A HUGE thanks out to Justin Mabry and Billy Kirkus for teaming up to produce such an incredible Myers!!! These early NMM78’s are still KING in my opinion!
And yes Kris, this one would look mighty fine sitting next to my gold KH! But for now, it’s on its way back to you my friend. …
That is one of the best looking mask I’ve seen yet. I can see the pride and hard work that went into making this mask all over it. Very nice job JC, very nice.
Holy Moses! That is one of the best Myers masks I have ever seen. I’ve always been a firm believer that the early run NM78’s were tops and this one just takes the cake. Amazing work, James.
Kris, I can’t wait to see the new costume pics you are going to take. Congrats!
That’s the HERO resurrected right there!
Damn, James you really brought him to the next level!
I agree with you as well, those first few NMM78’s are still king in the H1 world.
I’m pretty sure Kris wouldn’t object if you took a few extra shots next to your KH.
You’ve outdone yourself James, best work you’ve done yet in my opinion.
That lands in the upper list of the best H1s I’ve ever seen. The first few NM78s and a couple DB2s (one of which I’m fortunate enough to own and you played a hand in) has no equals.
Christ almighty James!! That there is a stunner to say the least…Guys who are new take note that this here is a Myers mask!! Even though you posted 70 pics do ya have anymore ?
That IS the best H1 mask i have ever seen!!! Very nice work JC… That is amazing!! That thing looks like the Hero from many different angles, congrats to the owner as well. Cheers
WOW!!! HOLY $H*T!!! James my man, you knocked it out of the park and into a whole another dimension! This “IS” the HERO. I am not just saying this because this is my mask, but this is EASILY your finest work to date! I know my good friend Justin may not be a fan of others tinkering with his work, but I knew James would honor and compliment Justin’s artistic talent and would create an interpretation of the HERO that I believe is the direction Justin himself would have invisioned for this mask. Thank you James for making my tribute to Justin’s iconic H1 proto a dream come true.
Yes my friends, once my broken ankle heals, you will see some classic ShapeShifter costume shots at their finest!
Damn straight Paul, all hail the bad boy of old school masks, the NM78!
Wow Kris. Here I thought you sold that mask. Yeah I agree with some of you guys who say the early NMM78’s are some of the best. The problem is there are not many around so they get forgotten for the flavor of the month. I’m part of that problem because I don’t post mine enough. Honestly Myers masks could have stopped in 2002 with the NMM78 and the KH/DW and I would have no complaints. Here is to your new mask.
