We did that scene in a tank at MGM Studios in Culver City Calif. It took five days to complete. What you see is by no means everything that we shot. The shark was maneuvered by a man named Whitey Crum. He was the effects man. He used a hand held device just like what the remote model airplane pilots use. RC stuff. The tank was round and Steven was looking at the cage from a porthole in the side of the tank at the cage with the shark coming straight at him beyond the cage. In other words he was looking at my back in the cage with the shark in the background. Whitey was a 1/4 the way around looking at the shark from the side and Spielberg would yell the commands through a two way radio set up. Up, down, sideways, bite etc. I hope you can understand all of that jibberish Jim  .

michael myers goes scooba diving   very cool man! didnt know that at all

take care thanks again for joining!
