About TOTS latex

I’ve heard that TOTS latex is of poor quality and deteriorates quickly, but how long does it last?

I’m worried because I requested an expensive rehaul.

My H2 Myers from 2012 has just a little rot at the neckline, and i have several others over 5 years old with no issues. Take care of them and they can last.

If I were you, I’d use the expensive rehaul for display as wearing them is what breaks them down the fastest from sweat and oil. Always wipe them out and use corn starch afterwards. I have a few TOTS that are dedicated to wearing and I expect them to wear out sooner. Also, keep them in a darkish room away from sunlight.

Unfortunately, it’s a crap shoot with their latex. My wife and I own a shop, and we’ve sold a decent amount of ToTS masks. A couple were stiff and dry right out of the bag. Others were worn and abused and the owner(s) still have them over 5 years later.

Yes, it tends to vary a lot. As I mentioned, my OG 2012 H2 is still pretty decent, but my 2018 Myers mask already has a lot of rot inside the mask and I’ve seen a lot of other people online posting theirs with similar rot. I only wore it like once on Halloween in 2018 and did sweat a lot in it and didn’t clean it well, but seems like that mask had a bad batch or something. In general, with the exception of the 2018 I have, I think it’s just fine for the price point. I’d expect 5+ years. And as for my 2018, it still looks just fine on the display bust and should be for a few more years.

I do have one of the old Myers “The Mask” from Paper Magic group I bought in 2008 that still feels like new- they used “stretchier” latex than TOTS. But it looks very little like Myers, so there’s that.
