Ok this is going to be a long story. I was unfortunately not able to get a mask this year, I only recently got a job to pay for this hobby. But I was not about to let no mask stop me. I did have TOTS H2 coveralls and I was not going to waste them. I had my sister wrap me up as H4 Bandage Myers. I put lipstick on it to simulate blood. It ended up turning out pretty good even tho I could not see, I instead had a picture taken of me and looked at it later. So then I went out and decided to be creepy, and I guess I did a good job. My plan was to scare kids but apparently 8:30 is too late for trick-or-treating around here. When I realized my costume would be wasted I had an Idea, I stared at the front porch of the house I was next to. Within 30 seconds the door opened. 2 girls stepped out saying goodbyes to who they were visiting and were walking towards their car when they saw me. They audibly were shook. When they got in I stared them down as I did every car that passed. They drove off and I decided to walk up the house they came out of. Before I even knocked I heard the phone ringing and It was on speaker, My guess was it was the girls calling to let them know a creep was eyeing the house. I didn’t even knock before I could see the blurry outline of another girl peer out the door window. “I think hes a trick-or-treater” she opened the door holding out a handful of candy. But I was not here to trick-or-treat as she quickly realized when I had no bag on me. I was breathing loudly partly because of the tightness of the head wrap and partly to be in character. I gave a head tilt and she shut the door with a “nope.” I stood there for a few more seconds until A man came out asking if I wanted candy. He did the same as her and I still stood there until I heard an intercom on the front porch, “goodnight.” that was my cue to leave, but I made no rush about it as I slowly backed off from the house.
Went across the street to another house. Pumpkins and lights on, no answer. Stood and backed off the same way.
Next house had a distorted glass door with a sign about a dog. My guess to ward of trick-or-treaters. I Knocked and made sure I was on the bottom step to be safe and a little creepier. A dog rushed to the door barking and stood there until a woman opened the door and apologized for her dog. She said something about getting candy and came back with a handful all the while pushing the barking dog away from the door. I made no motion to reach for the candy, just heavy breathing. She was clearly creeped out and dropped the candy on the porch and slammed the door. I head tilted at the dog through the glass and walked off.
I arrived at the next door Knocked and stepped to the bottom step. An old man voice is heard through the door. “you are a little late…what do you want… get out of here… did you hit your head?.. get out of here.” I head tilted and left the same as I arrived, In no hurry.
As I was stalking the house of my next victim from the sidewalk, a car with a white light on top drives by. I do the bit as I did every car and It stopped.
F***ing cops,
I wasn’t even scared I was just angry my Halloween would end so soon. “so we have been getting some calls about you?”
he didn’t ask me anything so I wasn’t going to break character that easily, Call me stupid but it was like I was living out the fantasy of the movies the entire night and I did not want to ruin it. shinned flashlight through my head wrap and I gave no response. He asked for my ID so I reached in my pocket and gave him my wallet. “so is *************** still your address?”
GOD FRIGGEN DAMBIT my MOMS ADDRESS IS ON MY ID AND I WAS IN MY DADS NEIGHBORHOOD. I shook my head no and pointed. To the direction of my house and caved when he asked me my dads address. He told me to keep it on the sidewalk if I wanted to be pranking people. And I nodded yes.
Two people are walking to their cars while the officer is talking to me and I immediately get back in to character and refocus my attention on would be victims. They laugh by and the cop hands me back my wallet. He gets in his car and leaves. I decide I’ve done enough and had to get back home to type up this story. I was still in character on the way back home. I noticed what seemed to be a flashlight being shined on my house and I could slightly hear what sounded like my dad calling for me. It was the cop talking to my dad. I stop at the side walk and decide to act creepy one final time. My dad is laughing in a scared way and is telling me its time to get serious take off the mask police are here. I start feeling my face like “Michael” did in h20 and Resurrection, then I take it off. Cop and dad are telling me that I shouldn’t be doing that but that he could admire what I was trying to do and thought it was amusing. Said he thought I was on drugs and didn’t even want to let me reach for my ID. We laughed and I apologized to the officer. And we shook hands. My dad thought it was funny but was still upset about the police showing up. I explained what I did and that was that.
DISCLAIMER: few things 1. I really could not see anything aside from a slight hole on the bottom of my eye and was tripping a few times on the sidewalk and on stairs. 2. I RESPECT COPS BUT GOD DAMN WAS I MAD I HAD TO BREAK CHARACTER. any other run in with them and I would have been super compliant and responsive.
