Not going to pre order it because I am probably going to just pick up the 4k at Walmart when it comes out. Release date was leaked as January 22nd, I believe.
Best Buy usually ships so you receive it the day before, or day of release. At least from my experience with a few blu ray sets that’s how it’s work. Plus, shipping is free. I pre-ordered this because of the steelbook and 4k resolution.
Well let me add to the conflicting release dates on this movie. When I looked it up a week ago, best buy had all formats as releasing on January 15th 2019. Then I read somewhere about January 22nd 2019. Then Best Buy removed the release date.
Now, in a huge twist of events, searching for Halloween Blu-ray release date on Google, results in it saying "to be released on December 18th, 2018?!? What the hell is going on with the home video release of this movie!? Lol holy shit it’s all over the place!
But yes, currently if you search “Halloween 2018 Blu-ray release date” on Google, a big picture of the case comes up, says releasing on December 18th, 2018, and links to Amazon for pre-order. It’s all sorts of goofy on that release date.

Question: can I watch the 4K on my normal TV?

Yeah you can watch any 4K or HDR on any normal TV and they will still look great just not as good as a 4K. My TV is an LG OLED and honestly plays 4K better than any 4K TV I’ve seen
And I haven’t preordered yet although the steel book looks badass. Going to wait and see if Amazon carries it but either way they both ship so you actually receive it on the release date. Amazon sometimes the day before
Wow, that is pretty bizarre. I remembering seeing a date first time I checked it out on Best Buy, but don’t recall which one. It does indeed say N/A right now, I’d like it by late January at the latest. Similar to IT’s wait for the steelbook.
I don’t understand the question? The disc is a 4K disc. So to play it you would need UHD 4K player. All 4K movies come with the regular 1080p blu-ray as well, maybe even DVD or a digital copy so if you buy the 4K you should have non-4K options to play. Do you mean watching the 4K disc but not outputting to 4K? You wouldn’t see any difference as the resolution or HDR wouldn’t be active.

Sorry, I am a techno idiot about this stuff lol. I just have a normal 48 inch TV and a Blu-Ray player. I wasn’t sure if I bought this 4k disc if it would play /work on my normal TV and Blu-Ray player.
I waited on the 4k UHD of the 1978 HalloweeN bluray, and after a week or two it dropped to like $13. and I picked it up then.
I want the 4k UHD of HalloweeN 2018, but after what I saw happen with HalloweeN 1978 I’m pretty tempted to just wait and see what happens. Right now I think it’s around $27.
Dont you need a blu ray player though?
