I would agree first run H78, H78 retool, or a nag ul75 retooled kirk conversion by james Cā¦ or the artist who you perfer to do it.
āBestā is always opinion based, but if you really want the āmost accurateā Iād have to say H78 by Nik, converted by J.C. It has the best Castle look out there, if you know how to wear it properly of course.
I am actually quite partial to Justinās masks of Nightowl Pro, very different quality to them. The '09 Psycho run is looking sweet, and I always loved Nightmare Man 78 as well. Both masks pull of some great looks, and you can never go wrong with Justin.
Iād say with Nikās, you feel like youāre getting a Kirk mask (into Myers), but with a Nightowl mask you feel like you bought it straight from Myers himself. All depends on what you want I guess.

Iām a huge fan of the NAG H78ās. Hereās one converted by Mike (AHG) and another converted by James (JC) 
To me their work is equally impressiveā¦

My favorite H1 I have EVER owned is my DB2 but then again Iāve seen some I didnāt like.
With that said I have seen some VERY impressive copies of the early run NMM78s, the 05 Psychos, Swampās rare, some H78s, some Mint75s and 99 DPS. It really comes down to the copy and a good pull of some of these excellent sculpts and of courseā¦personal preference.
How much did you end up giving for this mask, if you dont mind me asking you.
Anyone know how much a H78 repaint would cost?

I have owned tons of Myers masks over the yearsā¦ new and old, and to me itās tough to beat an original Nightmare from Nik, converted by AHG. Iāve seen lots of Nightmare conversions that fall short - it is no easy task to make them look like the Hero. But Mike always does it justice somehow, some way. I will be posting pics of mine as soon as I finish hairing it and you will see why the Nightmare is king - nothing comes closer to the original. Also, the size and dimensions are just perfect.
Second place goes to the H78 converted by Mike - Iām not a fan of the ears or the head size on them though.
I canāt wait to receive this beauty !!!

The KH new or old done up H1 has something others are just missing. I would go with the original four stamp Nightowl Nightmare Man 78 for second place. Hard to beat the detail and sharpness of the original. Iāve owned just about every mask mentioned in this topic. Itās just preference in my eyes.

The KH is the king, in my eyes!!
I always forget to add the KH as an H1 because it is so etched in my mind as an H2 but without question makes an amazing H1 as well.
If I were putting a few in order it would go something like this:
DB2 - converted by Colin and eyes and tweaks by James
KH - good copy converted like Paulās
NM78 - love Krisā copy
99 Shat (original) - converted
I also agree with Chad, I think the NAG Nightmare is good (largely due to the dimensions) IF a really good pull and converted correctly. I like the H78 but the head does throw it off a bit, a little too ācone-headedā.
