My question to the group is, are the masks that we see now the best it will ever be for our hobby or do you think In the future we will see a more accurate version of the real 75 Kirk? I think some artist have gotten so close to the hero, but there’s always that little thing missing In my eyes. I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this topic.
I think the 75K Castle is probably the closest mask we have to the real thing. I can’t see how anything could get closer than that to be honest. But that’s just my opinion. I’m sure there’s more.
In my mind there’s always room for improvement, until it’s a 100% accurate from all angle hero replica which imo is impossible. It comes down to what shot of Myers you see as your definitive look, to me it’s a combination. I see the hallway scene, the infamous phone shot, and the top of the stairs look. That’s what I see, and I try to find one that can replicate those the best.
It’s extremely hard to get every single shot because that hero really changed looks, unless you do a 100% detailed 75 Kirk scan its impossible imo. And I know its said that the 98 and 99 Kirk were laser scanned, but many are in doubt of that. So in summary of this long ass reply I’ve been typing up, yes we can get closer but it is gonna be difficult to get there. Sorry for the long post lol

Have you checked the blanks of the Shape78 I’ve posted on the thread? it’s not finished but it seems slightly more accurate to me than the Castle 75 as a sculpt
I’ve seen it and it looks very nice. There’s been one finished by JC already and I don’t think it’s as accurate as the 75 Castle but definitely close. Very impressive that he was able to do it in 3 hours.
You know, that is a great question. For what it’s worth, I have spent time taking numerous images of various replica H1 Myers masks taken at a certain angle that just so happens to be the same angle of a shot of the mask in the movie, and using a photo layering app to line everything up as closely as possible in order to determine which masks are actually “accurate”, at least based on me doing this. From what I can tell in doing so, the closest replicas out there to the real deal are the NAG 75k, and the NAG 98 Proto. Other masks, such as the Nightowl Creep, or other various NAG masks, are VERY close as well, but are ever so slightly off by comparison.
So, with that in mind, do I believe we will ever get any closer than what we have now? Maybe. Even though I truly believe the most accurate masks out there are the 75K and 98 Proto, needless to say, they are still not 110% perfect. I am no sculptor, and know little to nothing about the business, but I would like to think that eventually someday, a new H1 sculpt will come out that tops those 2 masks I mentioned previously.
Back to the photo layering I did…the most common inaccuracies I see on masks are mainly the eyebrows and eyecuts.
Hard to say if it can get any better imo. For now, the JC 75K Castle does it for me. I’ve seen many others though that equal this one as well
whats about the MCS / H1SM / H2SM … these are legit Kirks i think …

Tough question for sure and one that I don’t think will ever be agreed upon. I’ve owned many many kirks and myers finished by JC. 75K castle, shat, nightmare,75k new and old molds, and the list goes on. This is the one I keep coming back to. 2K final sculpt mold reshape. Only 1 in existence.

Thanks man. Ive had it a total of a couple years. Sold it to a buddy on here several months back and had immediate regret. Luckily I was able to get it back!
Nothing great. Suited up once but forgot to pull a castle stretch. Need to give it another go sometime.
