All depends how crazy you are for screen accuracy. I mean if I dress as 2018 Myers for halloween and nobody knows if the costume is accurate but me. I would’nt care really. But if you were among fans I think you would strive to be accurate

Even amoung true fans none will judge if your costume isn’t perfect and screen accurate. Just make something you are comfortable with within your budget. I go to conventions wearing blue dickies coveralls for part 5 Jason/Roy instead of spruce and also wear a part 3 hood instead of 5 and everyone loves the costume and wants pictures. Even at horror based conventions where people know they should be spruce. A friend of mine does H6 in a TOTS mask and lined black walls coveralls and he has like 5k followers and everyone wants his picture at cons. Most people will appreciate the time, effort and $ you put into a costume and will not judge or criticize. So long story short; don’t sweat it if it’s the wrong brand, or doesn’t have squared pocket flaps if those things are out of your budget. Just put together something you’re happy with and a true fan will appreciate it. And a non true fan won’t know the difference.
You can walk down your street in pajamas and if you are wearing even a cheap Chinese hock people will call you jason. I think outside the left pocket flap the charcoal red kaps will do just fine
