Chris Nelson just posted this pic on his Instagram of him wearing the mask and coveralls for the finger shot scene from H18 (honestly how I look wearing my H18 and in coveralls lol) It made me think: was the reason that the mask had that distinct Warlock type stretch in that scene because it was Nelson in the makeup? Because I remember seeing that video of JJC demoing the finger shot in a behind the scene video…

Nice! It’s hard to say for certain though because, as Chris has said, he tried to make the mask look different in almost every scene. Plus I think JJC sort gives the mask a bit of a natural Warlock stretch.

Completely agree. I love the 2018 mask but I do sort of wish they had built the Castle stretch into the mask, at least a little, to really give it that 1978 look

I think if castle never played Michael, we wouldn’t be as obsessed with the mask. He really does transform it. The Castle stretch put into a mask doesn’t do what his face does to the eye cuts. One of a kind
or the neck flare, that’s hard to do
I think if H2 never came out possibly this hobby may not exist. Yeah you can see the mask in H1 but frankly most is in shadows, far off, or very quick shots. H2 had long sequences with the mask and for the whole movie. Lit up at times etc
