We’ve all been talking a lot about the new Kirk replicas that have smacked us in the face, so I figured I’d post a comparison pic here. I wish the lighting was the same for all, but it will have to do for now. The darker lighting on the HMK makes the hair look darker brown than it is, and the angle is not straight-on. This is pretty big stuff guys… in all my years of collecting I’ve never seen anything come this close to the real deal - both the 2k and HMK. I feel they’re both at the top right now. Nik sculpted his version so that’s pretty amazing in itself considering the accuracy of it. And the details look extremely defined. Bry’s of course is a direct clay press from John and Jenny’s Mint 75 Kirk given to them by Bill Malone, the man himself. He originally finished it and wasn’t 100% happy w/ the results so he took the extra time to listen to all of our input and redo the press and refine the details. So not only is this the first 75 Kirk reproduction made from a direct clay press of an original Mint 75 DP Kirk, but it’s also the first I’ve ever seen a mask maker scratch a project he’s worked on for months and start over - just to make the customers happy. So props to Bry there! I’m just glad we’ve reached this pinnacle in our hobby… it’s amazing to say the least. Thx to the artists and all parties involved, pat yourselves on the back.
WOW!!! Those are beauty’s, your right both mask makers should pat themselves on the back’s for a job well done, kudos to Bry and Nik for awsome sculpts.I wish I had the money for both masks and enough to buy another set 4 alltogether, to have one set as kirks and the other’s converted. Both makers really do listen to thier customers, and do whatever they can to please said customers. I’m glad we have two awsome sculpters on here to be able to deliver these masks… Dean
HMK for sure!! It has so much detail that pictures cant pick up, Lip lines, Neck lines, Crowsfeet, also the eyebrows are SUPER DETAILED. Everything on the Medley’s 75 kirk is on the HMK mask.
U can also tell they used a lifecast to make it, as well.
i agree! we are getting closer and closer to remaking the original 75 kirk!!! it is amazing! also what about the horror sanctum one, that sounds pretty big!!!
The first 2 look so much alike, I love the last one as well but I dont think thats the best shot of that mask. Blows me how the 2k kirk looks so much like the DP 75 kirk in so many ways. Amazing kirks all in all!
Man it was a toss up for me…I had a choice between the HMK and the 2k kirk yesterday and the main reason why I passed on the 2k was the nose, It has a round ball at the tip that bothers me.
Plus the price difference helped me with my choice
Both are the best we have seen yet, but knowing the HMK was not a sculpt really makes me think there wont ever be anything better than the HMK!
