Was actually curious if anyone has experienced unique crowd participation while seeing the new movie. It was refreshing to see audiences young and old really interacting with and embracing this movie, and a lot of us who didn’t even know each other were hanging around to talk about the film and our thoughts on the franchise afterward, which hasn’t happened to me with any other film. Obviously, there are a lot of moments that reference the first film, and even the other films, and I experienced a lot of people saying things at the screen (not excessively, though) and applauding during certain moments of the film. We had a big applause moment after the camera went back to the ground where Laurie fell off the balcony only to find she had gotten up and walked away.
Anyone have or experience any unique instances?
Apart from the group of 4 dickheads behind me that wouldn’t shut up the only other bit was when Myers was walking towards the cot, a few people were whispering no,no,no lol
I had a group of younger girls behind me who talked at first but once I turned around I think they realized they were being obnoxious and they stopped. It was a solid crowd my first viewing, they laughed during all of the funny scenes and some shrieked during the bathroom scene and a few other kills. Crowds really do contribute to the joy you get from movies
First crowd on opening night was dead silent. My 2nd viewing, one fan yelled “WOOO” right as the theme started. That was good. 3rd viewing, some couple brought in a baby. It cried two or three times. The ignorance within some people
There was a lady at my view whom even her own kids were telling her to shut up. It was annoying, but it didn’t ruin the movie for me. There were generally good crowd reactions throughout the film.
I was another lucky one to have a solid crowd, and I’m very thankful for that… I felt that the group for the most part reacted appropriately to the films humor, startling scenes, kills, Ect. Perhaps a few laughed a little too much at certain things, but nothing to the point of being annoying as they found many comedic parts in the film already discussed on this forum to be funny. I was surprised how many people noticed the Nods towards the other films in the franchise, and little impressed… They seemed to be genuinely interested, and really into what was happening on screen throughout 6 maybe even 7/8ths of the film. Their interest seemed to die down slightly during the scenes at the dance (As did my interest quite frankly), then picked up afterwards. What had me a bit shocked was when the end credits rolled… The final Impression I got from the crowds reaction (or Lack Thereof) was that the vast majority seemed a bit underwhelmed… Which was a little surprising considering the fact that most of them seemed “All in” during the course of the Movie besides a few parts. IDK, Maybe it was late on a Thursday night and most of them had work in the morning, and were just tired? I didn’t get the chance to “Listen in” and hear what their opinions/reactions were since I left AFTER the credits were over, and 85% of them were out the door within 45 seconds after the films ending. Maybe I’m just crazy, LOL! Nice topic, BTW. …ANDY
