When rob zombie’s Halloween first came out I went to a little used furniture store in the city and I seen a few older don post masks on a guys desk and A box full of them beside his desk. This is when I first started collecting so I didnt know too much about rarity and value. I politely asked this gentleman where he got all of these masks, and he told be that they were in an old costume & gag store that had been closed down and not cleared out or rented for years so they just left everthing in the store the EXACT way it was years before. Everything was still on the shelves. He said that he had just bought the property and needed to GET RID OF ALL THE MASKS!!! (He meant throw them away!!) So I VERY politely asked him if I could come take a look ? He said of course. Now this is the part where I kick myself in the ass everyday. Luckily I had just watched RZ’s Halloween so I did know that the 3 collegeville clown masks in front of me were valuble. I also knew that the 2 “Terror train” conductor masks I seen were valuble as well. I looked through the literally thousands of different kinds of masks, Paper, plastic, latex, etc. I did NOT see any myers or kirk masks because I know I would have grabbed them, BUT…I didnt know what an Emmett Kelley was and passed over at least 4 of them unknowingly that probably ended up in the trash. I bought the 5 masks from him for $5 and sold the collegevilles for between 6 and $800 each but I only recieved $100 each for the conductor masks. Good score I guess lol ?

yeah i duno how much truth there is to that story no offense lol kind of seems a little off…not ONE of those clowns came with the costume? they werent sold as singles i dont think…and if he was throwing them out…he prob would of offered them to you

You should show us the pics of the 3 collegevilles. I know I would of taken at least one with all of them together, and I’m sure someone paying $800 would of liked to see them.
