Dr. Loomis gun replica! (new score on the way)

**_Recently I posted a thread about my KX Loomis bust that was finally completed fresh with a new hair job by Laura Lady. I added the authentic clothing and all of a sudden, Loomis was HERE! I was very pleased with my score…yet, something was still missing.

He “needed” a little more something, what better something than the good doctor’s gun to set next to him?

After carefully considering some pics of Loomis in HALLOWEEN, doing a bit of research and some help from my good friend “Swampbilly”, I decided the gun type Dr. Loomis uses in Halloween (1978) is a Smith and Wesson K-38 Combat Masterpiece, sometimes known as the model 15 revolver.

This gun has a 4 inch barrel, it is chambered for the .38 Special cartridge and built on the medium-sized “K” frame. They aren’t extremely rare but they aren’t cheap either.

For that reason I didn’t expect to have one since I was only using it for a display. However, while browsing the internet I DID find a nice surprise!

Crosman Airguns happened to once make an air gun to replicate the look of the S&W K-38 Combat Masterpiece! The replica (a Crosman 38C) looks almost identical and costs considerably less!!! The body is made of metal and the barrel of steel, so this piece “feels” right too!

I received a couple of pics from the seller and thought I’d pass them along. Not the most sought after replica in the hobby (Loomis’ gun) but I think it makes for a nice addition!

_Thanks friends! I know it’s not a “big” score but thought it was just cool and that maybe some of you guys might find it interesting as well. Half the fun was figuring out what Doc Loomis used!

Benny, I like that you go after the items from the film that most wouldn’t think to collect. Items like this gun and the Vincent Drug Store masks, to name a few, make your collection one of the most unique on the board!
