I picked Nik he’s a very talented artist, so are alot of others. Somtimes it sucks picking just one when there are so many talented artist’s out there… Dean
My two favorite sculpts for the ORIGINAL SERIES MYERS are the NAG H78 and Mint 75 so obviously my vote goes to NIK. As for Rob Zombie era Myers my vote would go to Casey at the PROP SHOP. Not to take anything away from all the talented sculpters in the industry. But if I had to narrow it down these are my choices. Mike
i too cast my vote for NAG and there are several reasons why outside of the fact that his sculpts are spot on.
now dont get me wrong i own and love the psycho, maniac and i will eventually get a nmm.
but for anyone wanting a real reason here you go, as stated i love my psycho but when i hold it up to the light looking inside the mask i can see many air bubbles and even afew very small pin holes which i can see the light! now im not saying that makes it a bad mask or it will rot quicker but ive held all my NAG masks up to the light and theres not one air bubble or for sure any pin holes. and i paid 350 for my new psycho. now there 250 and that rubs me just abit. if the h78’s were going for $100 less then they were when i bought mine i would be like what the hell? of course the price has nothing to do with it.
if nothing else i would have to give it to NAG for the remarkably fast turn around time. his accuracy and speed is uncanny.
note: i own many Myers masks made by various artists. if i like a mask i will buy it reguardless of who made it.
I think each maker is just as popular.
For example most people who like NO hang out on the NO forums while HSS owners tend to hang out at the HMA.
Nik doesn’t have a forum so NAG pieces are usually announced here so this poll shows basically which customers hang out here(MM net) more often.
Also some makers produce only one type of Myers so comparing wouldn’t be fair.
Really no use in these polls imo
while I respect and like several of the mask makers on this list, some only make Myers masks. Justin/Nightowl has such a broad array of different things he’s made and continues to offer, not just mainstream masks and icons, so for that I will give it to him. He’s made characters I dont even know who they are, and all look amazing.
Bob/MMFX also follows similarly and his style is completely unique which I also like (when he gets to work that is as you can see).
But I will always have an NAG & CGP in my collection.
I believe people are going to vote for the artist that they have had either the most exposure to both on the boards and within their own collection. Most of the newer members will likely choose Nik over Justin simply due to first hand familiarity with his work and due to Nik flooding the market with his work. Those of us who have been involved for years will likely lean towards Justin. In the end it’s a matter of what your used to and even though Ive pretty much owned it all i still feel there is nothing quite like a Nightowl piece.
Plus if Dennis didn’t limit his DB2 and priced them at a more mainstream price I guarantee many would think differently about the DB2’s. The same can be said of Ken’s Kh’s. Unfortunately due to the limited nature of certain pieces not many have had the first hand exposure of certain pieces to base a truly objective vote
I’ve owned so many masks by so many different artists’ but it always comes down to one for my Myers Needs…
Mr Justin Mabry!
He captures ALL the features I want in a Myers Mask everytime, I can’t find one fault in his work, it just leaves me breathless everytime. God Bless Ya Justin!
But we are so lucky to have more than myers mask maker in the community! and not just myers mask makers but Jasons’, Freddys’ and other Horror Icon Monsters.
there are alot of AWESOME mask makers here that make GREAT masks
but my first choice is NIK at NAG everytime, hes work is absolutely FANTASTIC the detailing the hairing
is perfect everytime the work Nik did on my H78 and my H4 POSTER MASK was AWESOME in the pics he sent me
but even better in person once i received my masks and saw them for myself .
but not just that Nik is a nice guy and a great guy to do business with
and he always likes to know that us the customers are very happy with the masks we brought from him .
