Just wondering how many people here have spread their love of horror.
I have gotten a couple of friends into Halloween and Horror movies, and my girlfriend is practically obsessed with Halloween (1978)… She has fanboy chats with her friends and they have no clue what she’s talking about lol, I got her a Nemesis for Christmas. My friend Brandon occasionally buys masks, goes to cons, and browses the forums. Some of my friends can actually identify what part a hockeymask I may buy is from! haha
I’ve talked to some members that have no one in their world to talk to besides us forum browsers, so I feel it’s great that I have at least 4 friends that are obsessed with F13, or Halloween, or anything. Anyone else have that?
I think my Wife is a closet Halloween fan, she says she don’t like it, but when me & my Son start watchin a movie she’ll be on the computer looking over her shoulder to catch certain scenes. :finga: :finga: :finga:
I always love having my friends come over and look at my “museum” of horror. They always love it and we end up sitting there and talking about the masks and the history behind them , i actually got my gf into special fx makeup because of this site…she now looks like this…
Personally, I don’t have any local friends that share my passion for horror or film in general.
My mom introduced me to horror as a child. My brother is a horror nut too, but he tends to get lost when I start talking about props or random film trivia.
My friends don’t seem to mind me talking about it. I usually keep my mouth shut though, for their sake.
Yeah my family dreads my hobby, they have constantly considered me psychotic, JUST BECAUSE I OWN LATEX WITH PAINT ON IT! Some people can’t appreciate the art of it. One of my brothers constantly makes fun of me and calls me a “Jason psycho freak”…
However my closest buddy and identical brother is into horror at the same level as me, browsing all these forums, collecting masks, researching things in the hobby…
my daughter always asks to watch horror movies her favorites are myers (Halloween 4-the one with the little girl in she asks for) also freddy and candyman, i bought her a candyman figure for a christmas present, shes only 2 years old.
my daughters name is Chaney and her middle name is Bela, so i sort of understand why she likes horror movies.
yep, that is my story too, my family thinks i am wierd because i am obsessed, then when i show my dad awesome masks like the maniac, he says, “it is the same as all your masks” bare in mind i have 3 don posts, lol! and when i sohowed him a pic of my new h4 mask he said the same thing and thought i was crazy spending $100, but to me that was a steal, lol. also none of my friends are into this! lol
I got my nephew into Godzilla at age 2…11 yrs later he is still hooked. When he was 7 he wanted to watch “Dawn of the dead” cause he liked the VHS box set i had…he spent most of he night next to me…fingers over eyes…lol, but was a trooper. One night in Ocean City, MD with Deb and he chimes in (him and carl, her son …knew their s**t about classics…lol…and Tony Hawk) that he saw The Shinning…i asked him if it was the tv movie and he goes …“nooo Kubrick…c"mon”. I just love it when my nephew is into the Rolling Stones…and old school horror…there is hope for humanity
