Whats the deal with the neck extensions on some of the h4’s?

The screen used had a neck extension. As the mask appears today, the neck extension is missing.

I see there is some confusion on the names of these H4 masks. The HSS “crofader” has nothing to do with the H4/SP mask. They are totally different masks. Sam sculpted his mask next to my screen used mask and the H4/SP is a direct cast off my screen used H4 mask.

What ever happened to the neck extension? Do you know, or did it come without it?

It looks like they took it off because there was a rip on the neck where it folded over. I had Brad Hardin fix the neck recently.

What was the point of the neck extension anyway?

from what I remember, the mask didn’t fit Wilbur quite right, so the neck extension was added so that he could tuck it into his collar and prevent the mask from slipping off.

The HSS H4 is a great mask Randy. I’ve owned a fair share of H4 masks and none seemed to fulfill my desire but the HSS does it. Scott’s H4 mask is just as awesome and if I had the $$ I’d pick one up but for what Sam let’s his H4s go for it’s quite a score. Here’s my #2 proto redone by Scott:

Sorry for going hog wild with pics, but I really love this mask. Unfortunately, since I’m not an H4 build, I haven’t done many costumed pics with it.
