H1 hero & the H2 hero not the same mask?

Well, I guess by now most of us have heard what TLW said about the mask, so let the topic / discussion begin.

TLW is full of it.

We have photographic comparisons they’re the same masks.

I agree. Not sure what TLW is actually talking about tbh.

Something I want you to think about. Tommy was attached to Halloween II. Maybe at one time the masks weren’t located, the masks from Halloween, and maybe they were going to have Don Post make new ones for the movie. Tommy was involved early on and left the project. Plus this, I don’t believe Tommy has even ever seen Halloween II. He hated everything about it. So, from the outside looking in, his comments are correct…it looks like a totally different mask to him but to us, it’s the same.

So is it the same mask? lol and I don’t understand the hate that H2 gets, it’s a fantastic sequel.

I’m looking at it from Tommy’s pov. When I talked to him on the phone in February, I asked him about Halloween II. That was 40 plus years ago. He tried to remember as much as he could. Hell…if you asked me to remember stuff from 5 weeks ago, you’d be hard pressed to get the right answer from me. Give the guy a break.

I love Halloween II…and want to see a director’s cut. I don’t think I’d have the Halloween II pumpkin from the opening credits if I wasn’t a fan. Just don’t break Tommy’s balls. He’s a cool cat.

Yeah I can’t remember what I did at work 2 weeks ago :joy:

I completely agree with Billy, here.

I didn’t mean to paint Tommy as anything but mistaken, perhaps.

No bad vibes for TLW at all, I was just confused by his remarks. No harm/no foul.

He wasn’t there for H2, basically, plus Nick had the original mask after H1, I actually wonder if Tommy knows about that

Still weird as he was very confident in his voice stating it was a new mask. He also remember a lot of small details from H1 like what paint and color they used for the mask and hair so he still has a good memory for that time it seems.

When did he say this?

Yes, we know for a fact that it’s the same mask.

On Sean Clarks podcast.

Ok since this topic is here. Can someone explain and prove that the h2 mask hair was not changed at all. Side in my eyes it appears very orange. That being said the pic with Jamie Lee in the red sweater shot the hair is orange and curly. I e done a lot of make and this look like a repair job to me. And not even the hero mask. It was stunt mask and the hair was redone. I e been told by some of you that it’s the camera and lighting and such. I find that very hard to believe cause the pics in h2 after party pic and especially pic where dick warlock sells his mask to the buyer. Guys the hair is orange. Please explain

It was not the camera and lighting, that plays little part in why it looked so different in H2, the black spray paint that was put over the blonde Kirk hair had just faded over the years especially since it wasn’t stored very well when Nick had it in his possession, unsealed spray paint on hair and paint isn’t gonna last forever lol plus a lot of the hair was falling out. So yeah when the black paints faded into blonde hair you’re gonna get a light orange-ish brown color, mostly brown tho it just looks orange in some lightings but if you look at the current day hero pics it’s def a light brown with hints of orange.
The mask was definitely never re-haired.
However I highly believe after the shooting of Halloween 2 Dick most definitely had it repainted fully white

Jamie is wearing the stunt mask, not the hero mask, the streaks and tips goes practically everywhere, even when you see Tommy do the Conversion on the Kirk he was provided, look at how dirty the kirk is from doing the eyecuts, and Tommy’s hands, literally has tiny specs of the black, as the Hero did in H2

Yea I’ve always thought that most of the weathering on the hero mask came from having sweaty hands touch the hair, then pulling on and adjusting the mask. The heaviest weathering spots are on the neck where you would pull the mask down, in between the eyes where you would pinch for adjustment, and the nose and mouth would also get touched a lot for adjustments.

Yes good point. I get the whole weathering thing. It’s the hair that has me thinking for a long time now. The hair in this shot and others looks more orange to me not like stock hair on the don post 1975.

That’s got flash involved too, so it’s much brighter
