h4 mask question

Hey everyone. I have a cgp gpw h4 mask that has yellowed a bit. Now i don’t know if i did a stupid thing here or not, but i remember a member on here saying he used windex to take out the yellow…so i tried this, and it seemed to help a little bit. My question is should i keep doing the windex ? Or should i find someone to re-paint it? And if so, who would be the best person to do it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would get it repainted I would NEVER put any chems on a mask
as far as who not shure ask Warlock or JC or AHG
I can also do it

o.k. Spaz. Thanks for your input!

Yeah, I’d stay away from using chemicals also… I’d get in touch with someone who could repaint it.

send it to Scott QOTS, He knows how to do a H4

I’ve used ‘clear’ Windex on masks in the past to remove yellowing and dirt. It’s safe from everything I’ve heard. It’s basically a component of latex anyway, considering it’s made of ammonia. The masks I’ve used the Windex on still look good today and it’s been a few years. I’ve also heard that some companies like Distortions, Post, etc. used armor all as a sealant on masks to preserve the color over time. Haven’t tried this myself though. If you decide you want your H4 repainted, hit me up.

I not a mask expert, but chemicals on a mask doesn’t sound like the answer. :open_mouth:

Sounds iffy to me.

like warlock said windex is ok.Its mainly ammonia anyway.Just use a little at a time.

There are chemicals in latex paint. I’m not telling everyone to go out and buy Windex to clean their masks. Just stating from experience, I’ve done it and it works fine.
Terry from CGP used Windex to clean masks also (not that I’m saying he’s a great example).

Looks like Zephro also approves.

Windex wipes work really well. Just get the original kind. I used this method on my older SSN masks and on a few of them it worked like a charm. If you can’t get the yellow off with some Windex wipes just send it to a mask maker. You will be surprised how much dirt and yellowing will come off of the mask. All mask makers use different mixtures and paint mediums so this won’t work for everything but give it a shot.

Thanks Warlock, Quiet on the set, Mask4me & Clown#6 for all your input! I’ll stick with the windex
