Holy HELL,I am like sick to my stomach here or something…
Not your fault SPAZ, this isn’t about you at all as reading this thread I can tell you weren’t told anything about this mask and thus I can only think that you were not informed and did things unknowingly…not saying you wouldn’t have done this anyway, but at least if you had, you would’ve known what this mask was and perhaps you might’ve wanted that if you had known…anyway, please don’t take this as personal, offense, or directed at you at all SPAZ…I’m just distraught…I opened this thread and saw my beautiful new-born baby had had it’s face massaged with a cheese grater…all my time and work to make that a mask and give it life had been erased…thats why I feel sick to stomach right now…
Well, I will keep this short as it’s not of mush point anymore…this mask is a SSN CURSE rumored to be recasted by TOM SMITH of SMITHSGROVE…Tom Smith traded this mask to a 14yr old member here who was brand new to the hobby and used it to rip him off BIG time…told him it was a real SSN CURSE, and on top of it, his paint/hair he did on it looked like it was done by Helen Keller! Hideous! I felt bad for this young new member for how he was taken advantage of like this and traded him a MUCH more costly mask (as stolen recasts arent exactly worth anything, to me anyway) and took this beast off his hands…I didn’t know what the hell to do with it tho, but it hit me…it needed to be given another chance at life…it wasn’t the masks fault it was a recast, would a human clone not deserve to have a styled haircut or nice clothes? …well, I had an H6 mask already and a recast wasn’t gonna replace it in my collection LOL, but it hit me with the help of random gabbing on the phone with a good friend on the boards…the mask used in the beginning of H20 was in fact an H6 mask…so I was going to have it painted/haired/styled like that mask…and on top of it, it was told to me that it would be like the 4th H20/H6 finished mask in existance…pretty cool…talk about giving a recast a chance! But who to do the work…would never even contemplate asking Darren at SSN, might as well give him a glass of Grape Kool-Aid and kick him in the nuts as he drinks it…there was really only one man for me to do this, Gary Mongar/H30…I needed someone who would dive in and be on my boat here with the story and sentimental value and wanting to give it that 2nd chance at being a mask…but its such a touchy request to make, have an artist get involved with an unauthorized recast of any sort…but Gary felt the story (much much longer one then this LOL) and said he’d do it, and such a thankful thing as he is such an H20 fan and rocking H20 mask finishes, he was who I wanted for this the whole time, and he loved the idea of doing the H20/H6 mask so everything fell into place…speed things up here, he rocked it hard, the mask he sent back to me literally was like a total different mask…he sent me before/after pics put side-by-side, and holy hell, he did an amazing job…
…and for some “wtf were you thinking you crazy whacky guy…go back to the padded room will ya!” responses in your head, if you haven’t already LOL, I had enough total value-worth put into this recast that I could have probably gotten an actual SSN Curse…ridiculous! …I didn’t notice really as it was here and there and not a lump some, and in no way do I have that kind of money to toss around (I’ve been unemployed now for 5.5months), but it needed rescuing, and I couldn’t display it as it was and I didn’t want to shove it a closet and forget about it (thats like might as well just throw away, but I couldn’t ever do that, not right)…I also could sell it…for one it was a recast and those aren’t exactly sought after (publicly at least LOL a dark secret of some peoples collections LOL), and the way it looked!!! yeah, I’d sell that baby 1st day posting it…I also could never lie or leave out the facts of the mask which would have been how to sell it as is on ebay, still not for the value of my trade, but something…so my only choice was to nurse it back to health…and worth every penny to me!
So why don’t I have it anymore…well, not going to get into some personal crap that has angered me greatly on a public forum, but I will say this…for the same reason I acquired this mask, I parted with this mask…I traded it with another young member here who I know well and wanted to help him out, so I took a trade that I didn’t need for my collection and didn’t want (it’s a nice piece, just not for my collecting ways, ya know), but he was looking for an H6 mask bad and on top of it he loves H20, so I told its cool…and I regretted it as soon as I put it in the box and everyday after, and when I finally broke down to let him how I really wanted the mask back (and not a trade back, either a new trade or toss him some bones whatever)…day late, he had made trade and mailed day before I called him…wasn’t mad, he didn’t know all this and I never told him my attachment to it, and he felt bad when I did tell him, which I didn’t want to happen…but it all breaks down from there…this is where it gets private and my not-so-happy feelings come from and why I’m pissed and posting the TRUE STORY FOR ALL, as I kept privately telling each owner…and reinforcing that they share that info with anyone else who would own it next, …and I’m pretty sure seeing this thread…SPAZ WAS NOT TOLD ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT THIS MASK AS HE WASN’T EVEN FULLY SURE IT WAS A RECAST OR NOT!!
…rolled my eyes at that cause it doesn’t sit well or make sense to me why hide all that from someone purposely, not like you could sell it as a SNN CURSE cause anyone who paid for that mask and received it…prob none to pleased…and I feel bad for SPAZ that he wasn’t told what he was getting here…
…as the story behind it was personal for me for one and no point in babbling about it aimlessly on the board, and then all the info on the origins of the mask’s recasted past, etc can just cause pointless debates unrelated to post, etc…and tho Gary told me he was ok with me publicly telling people he repainted and rehaired it, I kinda was iffy on it, and actually never went public with it on the boards as the focus of a post or ever saying anything about it…I took pics of my H6 display and case and put this mask in the case, don’t know what people thought it was, but it seems like on other posts when a mask is in a pic (and a couple pics at that) and it’s not said what it is, it tends to get a reply asking…no one did, so did everyone think it was now actually a SSN Curse? Don’t know, don’t care really…it just looked awesome to me…
…yeah, it has its flaws, its still a recast so it’s not the same as the SNN Curse molecule for molecule…but it was what I wanted, Gary did an incredible job with it, and the sentimental value it carried plus this huge story behind it (do you know of mask with so much history, drama, and life-affirming journey?? …it’s wild man!!!)…
SO…when I opened this thread, not knowing it had gone to a new owner (it was supposed to come home to me finally…sigh) nor any clue from title…my eyes went wide and I got pissed as soon as I saw the first pic…and then as I scrolled down each pic it was like this entire story I just shared, meaning, time/effort of mine and all the time/effort Gary put in to make it what it was, sounds weird, but “to give it life” ya know…I just had that feeling of disbelief, “holy shit NO! CANT BE!”, and again, hopelessness as now all I gave it was gone and I will never get it back, it will never come home…
…and so, ALL THIS…I know, I said I’d keep it short LOL, but believe it or not, this is short 
…ALL THIS wordage and time spent typing and stuff was all to inform SPAZ of what he got, what his H6 mask was…and it is in no way wrong of him to do what he did to it, as he was told he was getting an H6 mask and it didn’t have an H6 finish…but I am just sitting here wondering if he would’ve still stripped it and made it H6 again had he known even something simple like…
“this is a recast that Gary Mongar/H30 repanited/rehaired to resemble the H6 mask at beginning of H20…same mold, but not an H6 mask…”
then at least had he liked that idea and realized the finish was purposely as it was and not an inaccurate H6 finish and kept it as is happily? And then if he had gone ahead and stripped it and re-done it H6 as he did, at least I would be able to be at peace knowing it was what he wanted and made him happy, which isn’t what all this is about at all…it’s just that sliver of “what if” floating around…what if…
AND SO…TO END THIS HERE, I DO WANT TO MAKE IT KNOWN AFTER THIS SAD TALE, AND END ON A POSITIVE NOTE:
SPAZ…the mask looks very good man, you did a nice job with your H6 finishing, and I mean that man…you got some skill…and had this not been “this mask” lol this couple sentences telling you how much I like what you did, cause I do truly, don’t want you feeling bad, attacked, or that I’m pissed at you in anyway…not the case and my apologize if you did feel anything like that while reading this 700page novel…
…and then after those couple sentences telling you I really liked your H6 finishing work, I would’ve tossed out one more time and been on my way (instead of typing, changing, editing for past 1hr 48m)…

I’m very picky about my Myers masks
wasnt happy with the eye cuts and the eyebrows
the main reason I got it was to repaint it
also I now Have 2 Recasted SSN Curses
oh and I dont fund recasts I just get what I want(mostly to redo)
wont try to make money off it and like you said its not its fault its a recast
and would NEVER pay form someone that recasts
also just really giving other ppl a chance to get other things
which is why I like doing trades
which is why I dont mind throwing 2 or 3 extra things in a box
this prob dont make any since cuz I’m tired
just to clear things up, jamesazrael, I don’t think it was Tom who recasted a curse, but Bill Miller. I remember him selling a Curse recast a few years ago, and even had one myself. The eyes and everything match up to it.
Hey Josephcoi…thanks fro the input…there was some un-documented “rumor”, I guess you call it, the Tom had taken the SSN Curse and recast it and sold just a very few blanks (under 5 maybe) on eBay, I don’t know…and Sean Clark had come down on him like hell-fire and made Tom swear he was breaking his molds…but I guess he had still a few blanks around and still sold them…so with this “rumor” it just made total sense to me it was Tom who did the recast as it was TOM SMITH who made the trade to this kid, telling him the recast was an actual SSN Curse…
so maybe it was Bill Miller. but why Tom had one then? and then the rumor about him doing it?..fit together…perhaps they both did it???
There’s really know way to know for sure as there is no “public record” of the event…but ya gotta admit, sounds like it’s dead on with Tom…there’s a rumor he did a recast…and he has one in his possession…
Oh well really, as there is no solid proof for either of them, I guess we shouldn’t really say it was them for sure…but Tom was a total jackass regardless for ripping that kid off like that…that is a solid fact…
