This is something I just thought of doing recently since I saw a video on youtube of someone showing off a HII Economy mask with hair added onto it.
I wouldn’t have the time to fully hair mine by Halloween (at least I don’t think so), but I’d like to try it somewhere down the line as I’d like to try and experiment with my mask a bit for a while, before I could get a TOTS Elrod or something maybe. Hairing it would be a pretty good start I think.
So, the main question is, how do you go about hairing a mask?
There are videos you can find on YouTube and guys like Nick M (MASKENSTEIN on here) can give you some tips. Each Halloween variant has different hair so the process is slightly different. I’d recommend grabbing some camel hair to start as it is definitely one of the easier hairs to glue and apply. Mohair isn’t bad either I’m just not a huge fan of it
Ah, okay! Right, I’ve checked out a few videos detailing the process, I’ll have to set aside some time to give it a go someday. Made note of using Camel hair or Mohair, although I’m not entirely sure where to get either. Can it be found in a craft store? Or do you have to go somewhere a little more specialized?
Don’t quote me on this, I’ve never researched it myself, but I believe other members get the hair off of Etsy alot of the time. Just trying to give you a reply
