I think the obsession started when her family was selling his family’s house and dropping off the keys, then stalking her at school, and as she walked home, and finally where she was babysitting. I think it was pretty clear what was going on and that she heard the history of him killing his sister and being completely nuts.
Actually, funny enough - one big complaint from some crazy person at the test screening is that the characters were TOO developed, which was absolutely a ridiculous statement to me. He said that it felt like a horror film - but there was too much character development for characters that should die quickly. I think you’ll be okay haha
Honestly this is my favorite trailer of all time. I swear! I have almost fried my brain watching it Im studying it. Still can’t figure out what is going on with that other figure in the left side window as to the right side window Myers starring into a mirror. The left side window looks like the shape standing and looking at someone or something? Hmm baffles me…Now as for James Courtney OMG this guy is nailing the Classic Nick Castle Myers role from what im seeing. Super impressed! When he bumps into the kids look closely at his arms and how their so loose and hanging straight down with the hands wide open. Just like Castle H1 Myers. He looks like young Castle Myers.
Ok…First fantastic trailer and it smacks you in the face of the Halloween season. I had to look outside to see if there were falling leaves!
The shape is restored and better than ever.
Laurie looks great.
Excited to see how the sheriff role develops because I love the choice of Will Patton as the Sheriff.
Now some concerns.
Is there going to be a Dr. In this incarnation?
Does the asylum scene seem staged?
Is Michael being shown too much?
Overall this is going to be badass. Carpenter pulling the Executive strings helps this project in a big way. Of course placing Castle back behind the mask for his magical movement is going to be exciting to see one again.
This is going to be like 1978 all over again. Giddy with excitement!
Although I am really excited to see this film I do have a few gripes about the trailer. First off the scene at the beginning in the institution didn’t fit the tone of a Halloween movie. I would have rather they visited Michael in a dark room as opposed to the open courtyard during daytime. I also felt the scene with the documentary guy getting slammed into the bathroom stall was too reminiscent of Zombie’s Halloween. It’s really too early to judge that scene but as of right now I hope the full scene is more effective.
I also agree with other posters that Michael is seen way too much. That was one of the problems they had with Halloween II ('81). I hope this is not the case with this film. I’d prefer they shoot him popping up in the background and foreground like they did in the original. I also prefer the tracking shots to shoot him from the neck down so we don’t see the mask too much, especially early in the film.
I also hope that Michael is not deliberately searching for Laurie hoping to seek revenge. I prefer it be Laurie with the agenda. Let Michael be the boogeyman like he was in the original. Let his acts of violence be random and w/out motive. Having said all of that I must adit I love the mask. Absolutely the best mask since Halloween II.
I’ve watched the trailer a few times now, I finally watched it on my tv and not my phone screen. And I have to say, I’m definitely liking what I’m seeing. It takes alot for me to go see a movie in the theater, for a bunch of reasons I won’t get in to but I will DEFINITELY be going to the theater for this one! Probably multiple times. What’s better than one of my favorite films on the big screen, a giant cherry coke, a giant butter soaked tub of popcorn, some snow caps and maybe some milk duds and twizzlers…I also like to sneak in some Mcdoubles and fries lol Looking forward to this film big time!
