Halloween sequel in the works? We shall see. I am excited that Jason Blum, Gordon Green, and McBride are even considering the possibility of it happening.

the movie cost like 10 Million to make and made like 100+ Million?
yeah, they’re going to make another one.
Nothing speaks louder than money in this world.
250 million total gross so far… not just a success…SMASH
Unfortunately money does make the world go round. Hopefully they invest lots of creativity into the next rendition and not pull an H5.
McBride and GG said they had an idea for the sequel before the movie was released, so given the success of this one I’d be very surprised if they weren’t already taliing about it. Jamie Lee Curtis recently said that if David GG was directing she’d consider doing another one, so I hope that it all falls into place.
The good thing is that since Laurie and her family ‘beat’ Michael and caused him a fair bit of damage, there’s a reason for him to start stalking the Strodes again, so we might get a bit more cat and mouse rather than out and out slashing.
In that timeline Laurie is now the one who bested him twice.
He’s going to be pissed.
Hopefully they actually make a scary horror film this time around. And also realize the gore and toilet humor sometimes can detract from a true horror classic.
They need to rewatch H1, H2 and H4 and then their film by comparison and see how little tension and scares there actually is. Will still watch day one though.
I dunno about you but the new one had my heart going pretty fast at certain parts, but don’t expect to be terrified by Michael. We have seen him around so many times and he’s so iconic he can’t possibly be as terrifying as he was back in 78. I legitimately had chills at times in the movie, Myers looking through the gate at Allyson? Chills. The shape hunts Allyson piece of the soundtrack plays? Chills. I can list more but what scares who differs from person to person. I wasn’t terrified by any means but let’s be fair, after seeing Michael so many times he won’t be as scary as he was before. To me, I didn’t find H4 scary in the least. Now don’t get me wrong I love H4 with all my heart but it never really scared me, nothing against H4 but the H2018 had me feeling fear at certain times.
From what I heard they where supposed to be filmed back to back but they wanted to wait to see how the first would do. Seeing it make 200+ million I expect to see a second

I can agree with the gore. It was more than I expected but was not over the top like zombie did w his two

That is my point. Those ‘parts’ were completely ruined by the pacing and edits and genuinely made no sense. The Shape Hunts Allyson. Ends 30 seconds later with her being ‘safe’ as a play on the fact no one helped Laurie. But we are watching a horror film, not a ‘hey guys this time there are decent folk around’. It completely took away from the moment and any tension, fear, thrill is over. It directly leads into the worst part of the film which is the sheriff and doctor and Michael randomly walking on a sidewalk.
My point in the scares is that I saw this same film with a group of people I saw the IT remake with. They were far more scared during that then this. This is Halloween. People were laughing in the theatres at the comedy etc. Never really feeling like they are watching a horror film. No one was scared of Michael. For all their ‘we are going to make people scared of the Shape’ talk, I feel he was never less of a threat then in this film. I have seen the film 3 times in theatres now. I saw it one final time this weekend after rewatching all the Halloween films. I have seen them dozens if not hundreds of times. There were certain moments I looked over my shoulder alone, scenes in H4, even H5 and H6 that were tense. I even felt RZH1 had some good parts. I don’t know. When people who get scared from Paranormal Activity and IT and Ring films walk out of Halloween laughing and talking about the comedy parts and thinking Michael was useless, you didn’t do a good job in my opinion.
Don’t forget, Michael’s coveralls are fire resistant (in reality, no joke).
Yes they are, those bad boys made sure he lives to slice another day! And he will because after 200+ mill box office profits, he will come home again in a year or two!
