Why didn’t they use the same actor (Will) for both scenes? I’m guessing one of the scenes was already shot before JC came in and did additional shots?

That’s what I assume also.
If it was already shot, I’m guessing it was originally going to be in the theatrical release but they opted out of it?
Then later included it in for the TV version and shot additional scenes as well?

Nah since the TV airing had to remove the nudity and violence, Carpenter shot some extra footage to make up for the TV run time during H2
I guess Will was the first person to play Myers twice lol.

I think Adam’s flashback scenes were already shot by Rick during the shooting of H2. Then JC came back on set and did some additional scenes for H2, and also the extra scenes for the H1 TV version, where I guess they brought back Will as Myers, as Adam was already off set???

**_I personally LOVED the courtroom scene, the rest had some good moments but only the courtroom scene I wish had been thought of for the original movie.
For those that don’t know:
When Halloween was sold to NBC in 1980 there were numerous edits (violence, profanity, nudity) demanded by the networks Standards and Practices department. Due to these cuts extra scenes had to be filmed to allow the now edited movie to still be able to fill the two hour running time slot. John used the crew of Halloween II to do a three day shoot of new scenes and alternate footage.
There are four extra scenes (spoiler alert warning if you haven’t seen these yet) :
\
“Board Review” - This is by FAR my favorite of the four new scenes and really is a great addition to the movie in my opinion. In this scene Loomis is begging to the board for Michael to be transported to a maximum security facility stating that the current minimum security facility selected (Smith’s Grove Sanitarium) isn’t “adequately prepared”. The two men representing the board don’t listen to Loomis and keep Michael at Smith’s Grove (instead of the maximum security facility at Litchfield as Loomis suggested)…the rest is history.
2.“You Fooled Them Michael” - A short scene but adds to the story as it shows more of how disappointed Loomis was that he couldn’t get Michael transferred to a maximum security institution. In this scene Loomis confronts a young Michael who is setting quietly staring out a window (not really looking at anything, just a blank stare). Loomis is angry that Michael has fooled the staff around him with his “conscious act” of being comatose. After standing and staring at Michael for some time, a visibly frustrated Loomis says “You fooled them haven’t you Michael?” Loomis pauses then adds “But not me!”
\
“The Evil is Gone!” - You would think that this title would belong to the scene where Michael steals Loomis’ car and drives away from Smith’s Grove…it isn’t. This is the third new scene and a scene that also served to not only add back time but to tie Halloween in with Halloween II and the “sister angle”. In this scene Loomis visits Michael’s room at Smith’s Grove again, this time after Michael has escaped. He is told that Michael must have broken the window glass of the door (on the back of the door the word “Sister” is written") with his hands and then pushed all of the other patients outside the facility as he left. If you recall from Halloween, you will remember the patients were all standing around outside when Loomis and Marion drove to Smith’s Grove to pick up Michael before he smashed the passenger side window of the Ford LTD wagon Loomis was driving, stole the car and escaped.
\
“Paranoia” - This scene starts out with Lynda knocking on Laurie’s home. She runs in obviously scared and nervous. She proceeds to tell Laurie that someone is following her. This is the coolest part of the scene, the rest of this one basically turns into filler. Lynda wants to borrow some clothes that Laurie has, Annie calls wanting to borrow the same piece. Mostly just small talk/girl talk. Other than Lynda being paranoid that someone was following her, this is the most obvious “filler scene”._**
Totally agree with this 100%. I do wish thought that all these scenes had been thought of for the original movie. I think they tie-in rather nicely IMO.
