The dope thing about h4 was that, it was brand new. He gathered brand new coveralls, and a brand new mask. It wasn’t the same mask, and in the movie it shows that. Makes it all the more accetable in my opinion. And h5 was a train wreck, man, that whole movie was a mess, I still enjoy it and watch it from time to time, but damn it’s easy to discredit.
Ur very right I’ve lived in Midwest my whole life and although some towns do look like H4, it doesn’t look like h1. Lol those towns are usually rich people u don’t wanna walk around or hang out around there it’s very private and secluded neighborhoods. Whereas areas like h1 are more open, and ppl walk or jog or trick or treat. In h4 those houses always have the lights off on Halloween and no candy or trick or treaters in the Midwest lol in my towns anyway
Lmaooo well put. This is exactly said period. Party city love it. These mask h4 h5 especially. All Halloween fans know this was the start and end to this series. Thx god. 2018 did it some what as if it were now. H4 h5 especially the worst mask ever made in horror history. So it shall be written so it shall be said. E gone party city h5. Lol
Exactly Colin, it is very clear that he gets a new mask, so it’s much more acceptable that it looks different. That’s also partly why I like the 4 mask, because it resembled the Don Post “The Mask” that was actually on store shelves at the time.
Sometimes things like that tend to creep the general audience out more, because they see something they have seen in stores in the real world.
Ghost Face is a good example of that. They saw that mask everywhere before Scream came out, because it was just a cheap ghost mask that also came in different forms and colors.
They tried to make their own version, but Craven demanded they get the rights to use that store bought mask. Simply because people will make that connection and be creeped out knowing that mask is out there in the real world. He knew what he was doing. I just attribute the part 4 mask as being in that same vein even if it was unintentional.
I love that u bring up scream, it’s one of my all time favorite movies man. I wish I had some more scream collectibles, I will get some eventually, here’s a photo of one of my older Easter unlimiteds I snapped the other day
With all due respect, as to how the movies looked, You need to remember that every one of these movies before the curse of Michael Myers was an independently made movie, so they’re going to look like that, and honestly actually objectively look at the first two Halloween movies they kind a look the same because they were independently made movies as well.
If they had the mask look like the Fangoria one, but with gradual weathering and no paint bubbles, it would slap.
Michael having a perfectly maintained hairstyle and wearing hockey pads makes him look so GOOFY. The Kelly Meeker kill and the shot of him on the roof when Rachel drops look way better than he does for the rest of the movie.
IMO I don’t really think anything has to do with the mask. It was the padding that made him look out of place. If he wore the coveralls over his own physique it would have looked pretty good. The H4 mask is a really creepy looking mask. I think they were trying to compete with Jason of FT13th at this point. Trying to get a larger Myers
I’ll disagree there. The hair is GOD awful and really makes the mask look worse. Also, the mask itself is just a very weird shape. Any cool Kirk features get lost, maybe due to the padding and bulkiness of the costume pushing everything up. The scene when he electrocutes the workman by throwing him into the telephone wires, his mask has Marlon Brando Godfather style jowels and a big double chin.
