How Hair is Sold

I need to know something, when buying crep hair or mohair (which ever one’s cheaper), do you buy it by the rool or a big box containing mulitble rools?? Stupid question, I know but serously, how’ s it sold?

Comes in one big strand or roll.

Most hair is sold in long locks or roving. Crepe hair is usually sold in braids or bundles.

How much are they?

Well it depends on what type of hair and how much you want. Usually you can get 8oz, 1lb, 2lbs and up… with 8oz you can hair about 3-4 masks. If it’s your first time trying it you’ll probably use more than you really have to… I know I did. Check out the woolery or ebay for hairs and fibers… a good one to start with is Camel Top. Camel is a good starter hair because it’s already a good color (brown or reddish brown) so you don’t have to dye it, it gives good coverage so you won’t end up with bald looking areas and it’s cheap so you can mess up and it doesn’t matter as much. Once you’ve got a method of hairing working for you and you’re getting more comfortable doing it try moving onto a more difficult hair/fiber such as Alpaca and then Mohair. Mohair is a finer fiber and sometimes requires dying making it one of the harder more time consuming hair types.

Hopefully this’ll help you out some.
