If they do another film....

In recent news it’s been said they are already planning another Halloween. Do you think Laurie will be in it? Will Myers be in it? How do you think the film will play out? This ones already very successful, I think if they don’t watch it then it could become cruddy like Robs H2

There’s no doubt Michael will be in it. But as for Laurie? I don’t think so, I think this pretty much caps off her story, plus I just don’t see Jamie Lee coming back for yet another sequel. Personally I was hoping this would be the last Halloween movie, but it seems that may not be the case. So, if they do actually go through with it, here’s what I would want. Give us a new group of interesting likable characters that Michael stalks throughout the movie. Let the movie take it’s time like the original, build up the suspense. Then, that night, Michael makes his move and starts playing with each character before he kills them, like the original. Also, personally I would tone down the gore. And maybe, just maybe, one of these characters is one of the Strode girls, and whichever one it is, will be the final girl that Michael chases at the end of the movie.

Where did I read that they wanted this to be 2 movies but they decided not to play it that way for fear the first of the two wouldn’t do as well as they needed in order to make another.
So, they seemed to squish everything in to one while also setting up their further hopes for a number 2.
Having 3 Strodes in this first movie had to have been intentional (they could have just done a daughter or just a grand daughter) so I think they definitely have plans for both of them without Jamie Lee Curtis.
I completely agree that the second one should be more of a slow burn with the smart cat/mouse chase at the end.

Whatever they do for the 2nd, the first one did all the house-keeping work of setting everything up, so they have more time and more room to stretch in the 2nd one.

!!SPOILERS!!
Add on the idea that everyone may think Michael perished in the fire, and you have a hella spooky reveal as the characters find out that Myers lived and is still after them, and I think it might be decent.
Might.

He’ll be back…

Well there will definitely be a sequel, it’s inevitable especially after the major money it’s making. Of course the purists and others who feel negative to the new film will be up in arms to shit on it, but for me I say bring it on!!

As for the direction? I can see the film following the daughter and granddaughter, but how will they explain Laurie’s absence? I have a respectable way to do it: wait a couple years first of all to make the movie, then you can have dialogue that explains that grandma strode perhaps passed away due to natural causes unrelated to anything Myers. Just a respectable natural death unrelated to anything involving Myers and what not. Everyone seemingly getting back to normal after grandma is gone, again through normal natural life taking its course, and then we have the daughter and granddaughter find out eventually that the killer is back, and now they have to use everything grandma taught them to hopefully overcome it. It can be done respectfully. And when they have to face the killer again, it might not go very well, thus the need to tie it all up in a trilogy. Yeah I just threw a third movie in there. I’m a greedy Myers lover lol.

Oh heck yeah, that sounds awesome! I was actually thinking about that. One thing I loved about the original is that no one but Loomis and the sheriff were aware of Michael being on the loose, everyone else was just going on about their lives as usual like any other day of the week. I mean, Michael was even out in broad daylight!

Maybe bring back tommy Doyle

I hope that if they make another one it focuses on a completely different group of teenagers and maybe the setting could be somewhere else besides haddonfeild. That would be a breath of fresh air.

What should they CALL the next movie!!!

That’s a great question…

Great question. I don’t think you want to number it, that will just add more confusion. A simple subtitle, “Halloween: evil never dies” would be fitting in my mind.

And yes, if they just developed a whole new cast of characters that has to face the evil of Myers, would be completely fine with me. Perhaps after a year’s time, the strode family got the fuck out of Dodge, and the only one sticking around is the Boogeyman, waiting for trick or treat on a new batch of unsuspecting folks.

That sheriff in the new film, he seems like he could give a shit about Myers, and seems like the kind of person who would discover that Michaels body is not found in the burned down house, yet would tell the public that yeah he’s dead so go about your lives.

Thus an ususpecting town, not ready for the Boogeyman to surface again on Halloween night. Where does he go for a year? Who cares, it’s the Boogeyman, yeah he’s human, but is he?? That was what carpenter wanted us to question back in the day.

We don’t need to know, but as far as I am concerned, he just lives in his house, which is now condemned and off limits to public trespassing. Sure the cops will search for him there after not finding him in the fire, but since he’s the Boogeyman, he just hides in the shadows until the heat dies down, then goes back home once no one cares anymore.

There he lives in the house, but silently and subtly. Only going out at night for food undetected. This way, when you have kids spouting off Boogeyman ghost stories as they Snoop around the house, the Boogeyman actually is inside the house, waiting for trick or treat.

Folks will say he lived there a year and no one noticed? And well yeah actually, as he is basically comatose the rest of the year, just sitting and staring at the wall in his room. Gets hungry, then goes out at night where he can be invisible, get some food, and return to his room and wait. Halloween comes around, and he surfaces. In true Boogeyman fashion.

This way you get rid of the tired “he escaped” storyline, and instead he’s just a myth, but yet real and living in his own house, undetected like a ghost of sorts. Then Halloween comes around, and it’s time to trick or treat.

They specifically filmed it so that if it didn’t make money it would have some closure… but there is just enough ambiguity to bring back Michael as well.

Basically they covered all their bases.

And with 90 million in 3 days… unless it just dies off this weekend there will be a sequel, especially as cheap as they made it.

Jamie Lee will be back. Too much money on the table and she has nothing else to do at her age. She was very engaged in the production and loved the script.

She’ll die in the sequel, maybe the daughter too, and the granddaughter will take over for Michael in some way. It’ll be a very dark sequel I think.

They can go down this road too. Jamie Lee can come back because they got the money to pay her out of this movies first weekend alone. Should she die though? I don’t know, maybe the daughter dies instead, bringing grandma and granddaughter closer than ever.

It could go that way and become a trilogy to tell that story.

But if we are going to send the strodes off into the sunset, I think making him a mythical Boogeyman, who lives in his own house undetected due to his comatose state the rest of the year, it’s got potential. Makes it like a real haunted house, only this ghost is a physical being that can be injured and temporarily stopped due to it’s human form. Yeah I said “it’s” human form. Pure evil found a host in a young 6 year old boy, and doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon. This new movie let’s us go down these roads now, since those chains to the plots of the other films has been wiped.

Bring back Danielle Harris, have her actually be Jamie Lloyd, but not a Jamie Lloyd who ever dealt with the shape. We are in an alternative timeline now, so her character can still exsist under a whole different story. No relationship at all with the strodes, just a family woman who gets a taste of the Boogeyman on Halloween night.

In the sequel which is going to happen no matter what, I want laurie to die in a moment of sacrifice so that Allyson and Karen can live. And while they are trying to escape, Karen dies and there’s a whole emotional moment while Allyson either escapes or kills Michael. Either that or Karen dies earlier, laurie sacrifices herself and dies with Michael. Allyson escapes. Please let Allyson live lol

Lawson Graves said, “I think making him a mythical Boogeyman, who lives in his own house undetected due to his comatose state the rest of the year, it’s got potential. I have no problem with Michael setting up shop in his old original house year-round. But wouldn’t that bring out lots of attention because by now this is a national serial killer story and you would have three times as many media vuitures descending on him to get desperate interviews or a chance to get him on video?

In my view of a sequel, I can see Michael evading the flames of Lauries house through an old basement coal chute and escapes to come back again. There’s a new sheriff in town that has a fan interest in Ben Tramer. He became a law enforcement agent not long after high school and still has a fondness and protective instinct for Laurie after her initial traumatic meeting with Myers.

Back comes Michael with a vengence as he STALKS this time Laurie and the rest of her family like a boogeyman is supposed to. Setting up for another epic battle. Back comes Tommy Doyle and Lindsay Wallace original cast of actors Brian Andrews and Kyle Richards as she desperately wanted to be in the current incarnation. They could be centralized to the story through a local sub plot where perhaps both are active in the community.

No doctor in this sequel. I believe Michael is more powerful when he is at home doing what Evil commands his body to do. Be evil on two legs!

Maybe just call the movie Michael Myers, like how they called Rocky Balboa.

The sequel should just be called “Haddonfield.”

I’m still interested in seeing what happened in Russellville.

I believe if they do another film, it might actually be the last one. I think the perfect ending would be Michael killing Laurie and her daughter, leaving just the granddaughter alive. Of course this might open the door for some type of evil mentality like Jamie Lloyd but I believe once he kills Laurie the series can die peacefully. I don’t really see him dying being too important, but if that was the case they would have to do it in a way worthy of the franchise. I don’t see them killing him off and bringing him back, even if people are viewing a follow-up as a “cash grab”, I believe this film was made to avoid all of the senselessness of prior storylines.
