I agree. The only thing these new films have done is put Halloween II on a taller pedestal. If Carpenter got involved because he thought these movies would eradicate Halloween II from the fans consciousness, I think it backfired⌠badly.
Itâs a little thing, but it makes Myers (castle) and the direction, that made Michael â78 different than any other: every time you hurt him he would fall and recover or play dead. He did it after being shot in part 2 but didnât do it when getting shot in both eyes! Now a days he simply ignores such a thing. Maybe being a small area of shooting the film in a house, they thought it was necessary to give Laurie a chance to move about.
I like JJC better than all the others except Castle.
But they just donât have the right stuff when making these sequels the things that draw us to the film from so long agoâŚyeah, we like watching the other filmsâŚmaybe to just remind ourselves of the original.
HKills Michael was definitely a tank which I understand not liking. I myself donât like it when Michael is just a Jason clone, but speaking to JJC movements and gestures, he is outstanding. Sorta a mix between Nick and Dick. I think heâs pretty perfect, itâs just the kills being way too brutish and lacking and sense of creepiness or boogeyman mystique.
Personally I really liked Airon in the flashbacks. I thought he did a good job capturing that same feel as H1. However the one thing people point out is when heâs walking down the stairs towards the end he doesnât do it like Nick Castle, he kind of slowly walks down. I donât see this as a problem though. In H1 the reason the Shape is walking so fast is because heâs going for Laurie. In the flashback heâs just walking down the stairs to leave the house, heâs in no hurry, so I donât think itâs out of character.
Exactly. Heâs not pursuing anyone. He already messed with Laurie, Michael is just wandering in the flashbacks at the point after Loomis shot him. Airon did a good Nick, he didnât sway his hands and kept them to his side.
Not at all a fan of how Michael was portrayed in kills, but I canât complain about JJCâs performance. He brought a lot of presence to the role but as an actor and stuntman he can really only do what the script and direction asks of him.
Good luck sharing that opinion with this crowd. Pretty much everyone here now are zombies for the Blumoween garbage and will not tolerate that someone doesnât love it or even like it.
No need to comment this. If some people like it thatâs perfectly fine, thatâs their opinion. If you donât like it thatâs also fine. No need for this.
Weâre not always gonna share the same opinion, but letâs respect each others opinions, ok. Besides at the end of the day, weâre still fans of the same franchise.
Exactly. Thank you, we all love Michael Myers, and the Halloween series. By whatâs your favorite soundtrack? Mine is Halloween IIâs soundtrack, itâs so atmospheric, and gothic.
I saw a pretty funny online comment a few years back which has stuck with me and I believe this is one of those times where using it is absolutely warranted.
âI respect your opinion, but you are stupid and I hate you.â
