I’ve posted a few pictures of this mask since receiving it, but I thought I’d go ahead with a “score” post anyway.
Some will recognize this mask as the eBay copy that Loris was selling. Say what you want about Loris, but he came through for me. I’d like to request that this thread remain focused on the mask itself, not the bullish*t surrounding its seller, the artist that finished it, and the SLE project in general.
With regard to the mask, I absolutely love it. From the structure of the SLE down to Colin’s finishing on this particular copy, it’s everything that I could ever want in a Myers mask. My only gripe is that it is a tad on the small side but that’s nothing that I didn’t already know.
Yes, yes, I know that side-by-sides are in order. I tried a few, but wasn’t pleased with the quality of the pictures (bear in mind that I’m shooting with a cell phone). I’ll try to get some up soon.
Trevor: You read my mind, bro! If I ever get the itch to score something else, it will be an Image to finish off the trio.
Simon: I can only imagine what you could do with not just my SLE, but any SLE. If you could get it on, the pictures would be epic.
Kaizu: I’ve played with the stuffing a little, but nothing extensive. Still something I’m getting a feel for with the SLE. If this was a 75K, I’d have it properly stuffed in a heartbeat because I’ve had so much experience with them.
Very nice score. I for one love Colin’s work but not all of it.
Would love to see a thread of your 75ks by him also, as an owner of a piece by him I know how great his pieces can look but no pictures can make up for seeing his work in person.
In Colin’s own words, this is his best paintwork and I’d have to agree with him. The 75Ks are off to a new home as they were part of the trade for this mask.
That is absolutely a fantastic copy.Congrats on landing this!!Was watching it on ebay and from what I saw,you snagged a gem and a half at an exceptionally fair price. It is a shame these masks aren’t a tad bigger but you have yourself a powerhouse display mask right there. The paint and finishing on a whole is just sick.Congrats,Frankie.
Great score Frankie congrats! I know you had to part with several for it but it’s definitely worth it from the looks of it. The paint is the best SLE finishing I’ve seen from Ken. The Pair is great together.
