Thanks again guys, below are some costume shots. This will be the one and only time I’ll ever wear it. It’s been cleaned, corn-starched and put behind glass as we speak.

Thanks for watching…

Bad ass pics Nick !
Congrats on the score !
Hmmm… yeah that’s quite an oval. Odd. I used to own that exact #5 Gold copy in 2004 and it wasn’t there when I had it.
Lovely pics dude… they definitely do the mask justice!
Here’s a pic I took of it back in the day. Looks like the hair has been re-worked, as well as the eye cuts being smoothed out a tad.

Thank you all again for the nice comments…
About the oval: That’s weird indeed … I just checked the mask, and the latex and paint seem to be just perfectly fine. It is tempting to say has been laid on that side for a while or got wet but that would have looked a whole lot different. Again, the latex and paint are in pristine condition…
Note I must say I used 2 or 3 studio flashes for these shots and these show EVERYTHING. When I do portrait shots from especially older people I have to be “gently” with the light and use of make-up is advised. So in real world it’s less than the pictures show.
Not that I really matter, it gives a certain vintage vibe to the mask but VERY curious where this could have been introduced. Any ideas?
Looking at it I think also more of the paint on the neck has been removed to show more flesh,I thought there was more showing, there wasn’t that much when you owned it Chad. The extra flesh showing does look neato though.
As regards the defects in the mask surface I was almost certain it was a mold issue, Ken starting a new prod. mold right after he poured #5, but I’ve never heard of these things appearing after time. Ken mentioned that the first production mold didn’t last long and this would make sense. Strange indeed.
Chad the pics you just took off did show the oval shape pretty clear.
True Paul… Chad, the oval thing can be seen in your pics too, look closely. It has always been there but tough to see.
As for the oval or any other markings, it is in the latex. Colin explained to me a few days ago that it would have been something in the mold Ken used. The only things I did was fix the hairline in a few small areas to more please me and as Chad said, fix the eyes. That’s all I did, not sure if someone before me did anything to the paint on the neck or not. The paint didn’t appear to have been altered at all when I had it. It’s my favorite gold sig KH by far… hang onto it with both hands Nick!
