Hey Hedge? Any chance you see this message?
I see it, friendo! What’s up?
Nice! I messaged you the other day regarding your 102-12s and was curious if you’re still making those beauties.
Oh, gotcha.
I quit making my replica 102-12 in 2024. I only made one that year, actually, so I feel like I stopped making them in 2023.
I’ve turned down… I don’t know… something like 30-40 requests during that stretch. I just don’t have the desire to do it like I used to. It kinda sucked the fun out of the hobby for me.
When the replica started to feel like a job I wanted to be done with it. I finished out my waitlist and stopped taking orders. I never accepted money in advance, so I could have stepped away at any time. It felt shitty to cancel on people that were on my waitlist, though. It took me close to a year to close out the list. By the time I was done with the wait list I was thoroughly burned out.
It’s ironic that you ask, though. I recently agreed to make a one-off knife for someone who offered to make me a replica coverall he’s been perfecting in exchange. Bartering has always been more fun for me than charging money.
It just so happens that I’ve been looking for a good replica coverall. Nothing against Connor at all, by the way, his coveralls are amazing. I just thought it would be fun to do a trade with someone trying to establish himself.
Anyway, that’s the story I’ve shared with countless others over the last few years. Hopefully, by putting it here, maybe folks will see that I’m serious about not making these to order anymore. At least not for now.
I still have the supplies and materials to make them, so never say never, I guess. If it feels like fun, I’m in. When it starts to feel like work and turns my hobby into a job, I’m out.
Also, I saw someone on Facebook trying to sell one of my knives second hand for $1,000 recently. Crazy. I don’t know if it sold or not. I never thought of myself as an artist, so it’s weird to see people treat my hobby as an artform. I’m just a dude that loves the movie and loves the knife.
I have the same Horror Express knife, by the way. Ryan is a friend of mine here in the hobby world. He’s a great guy! I have his V1 and V2. The V1 is still the best replica, con-safe knife out there. He cast it from his screen-accurate original 102-12” that I had the privilege of re-scaling. It’s the real deal.

Thanks man. I hear that loud and clear and I appreciate your response. I’d jump at the chance to own one of your knives but I understand your perspective. I hope you’re able to find the coverall you’re in pursuit of and maybe one day, we can strike a deal for one of those blades.

Yes I do but it has started deteriorating unfortunately.
It’s curently stuffed and sealed in an airtight box in my lock up. But this was it last Halloween…not looking too great tbf which is why I let my son wear it.
Damn! Its starting to look like the rotting hero !
Lol..that was a the only reason I thought I would keep it ![]()
