Scored something a little different today.
I’ve been wanting a black t-shirt from 1978 for a while now.
Since we don’t really know what kind of black t-shirt Nick wore under the coveralls in H1, I decided to get something Michael Myers himself MAY have been wearing Halloween night in 1978.
I had fun with this.
I wanted something that the mechanic from Phelps Garage may have been wearing under his coveralls before Michael murdered him and took his clothes. Something that feels authentic, from the time and place, realistic, plausible, and believable.
I’ve been looking at this shirt for a while now and decided to finally just buy it. Got a good deal on it, too.
The easiest way to know if a shirt really is from 1978 is to get one that has the frikin date right on it. Tour shirts, man!
This band was local to Illinois in the 70s and had a concert / release party in Chicago in March of ‘78.
Heck, I bet a mechanic from Phelps Garage would have driven to Chicago for a concert with his buddies the spring before he gets murdered. Why not?
It’s all a bit silly, but this t-shirt helps me feel even more connected to the time and place, the actors, the film, and the characters.
It was a fun purchase.
