Messing around with the hair on my NMM78R

I recently posted some pics earlier, and even though I liked the way they turned out, I really didn’t like the way the hair had bulked out over time and seemed to lose it’s overall mohair touch. I got to thinking about how I wanted it to look more like when the NMMR initially left JC’s green room.

I decided to matt it down to get it to look as close as it did when JC first revamped it. I think I did a pretty decent job. Lemme know if you guys notice the difference at all. I’ll post some before and after pics of what it looked like when it left JC’s hands, how much it seemed to poof out over time, and what I did to it last night.

When JC first turned it around:

What it looked like a few years later after I bought it and wore it:

And what I did to the hair last night:

Here’s a few more from this morning:

MAN STEVEN, you did an outstanding job on the hair restyle! JC’s work on that is top notch as always too! the NMM78 no matter what always has that little something extra about it and Justin did amazing on it!

i will never get tired of seeing this copy my friend, post away, in fact i demand a few more :myers: :myers: :myers:

Looks like it did when it left the green room, Steven! Nice touch.

Like it’s been said throughout the years…The hair can make or break a mask
Good work on that Steve and nice shots!

Looks good, Steve… I think part of the reason it looked so matted up & grungy in the movie was because they didn’t treat it like gold. They just ripped, twisted, poofed & grabbed the hair like it was a 2.00 dollar mask.

Dam, Steven! That looks badazz! I agree, you really brought it back to how it looked when it left the green room! A+ brother

I appreciate it, guys. Thank you. I think it looks really sweet myself too…nearly identical to how James did it just a few years ago. Everything flows together so much better now. I love seeing the blonde pop through in some spots the way it does. JC did such a great job on this.

Chirs, I’m at work right now, but I’ll post a few more when I get home later. I took a few more pics early this morning before I fell asleep. They’ll look a little grainy, because iPads don’t take pics too well in low light, but nonetheless, they’ll still look really cool. Paul, I’m sure you’re right dude…and I’ll never grab or take this thing off by it’s hair. It’s like a whole new, cool looking mask now. Can’t stop staring. As usual, you guys are awesome. Thanks again.

Steven

most definately did an awesome job Steven…it looks exactly like it did when you first got it and it is a looker…I’m actually having a similar dilemma with mine and was brainstorming the other night about how I could make mine look freshly “styled” again…wanna share any of your tips on what you did here?? And hey everyone, anybody have any recommendations on what to use to protect and seal inside signatures from fading??

Looks like the restyle did the trick, looks great!

Bill

Looks brutal. Love what you did to it man :sunglasses: Great job on restyling it!
-Scott

I don’t know how I missed this thread! Like I said before, That’s an amazing copy, Steven! Good pics too. …ANDY

MadM, Bill, Scott, Andy…thanks for all the rave, fellas. I’m not sure if many have seen it already, but in another thread toward the bottom pg 1 of GD, I posted some recent pics wearing this thing as it sits now. I’ll try and post more either on or before Halloween…particularly outside shots. Thanks again!

Steven

Very nice shots. I definitely get the Halloween vibe from them. :sunglasses:

Such a classic piece! Good job on the hair!
