First let me make it clear that I am NOT a Death Metal fan.
I must say I find it funny however that we that don’t like Rap must be ignorant toward the genre (instead of simply not liking it) but you come back with a statement like “Let’s all listen to some death metal and worship satan and death!”
Even though I’m not a fan of Death Metal I highly doubt this would be considered an accurate depiction of the music.
At any rate you have the right to defend your tastes and that’s cool. I’m not going to give you a hard time about it and to be fair I did state my distaste of rap a bit harshly…no harm meant and I wasn’t trying to belittle you for being a fan.
See I am saying that towards Death Metal as an example, I dont care for it, but people like it and I wont insult it for the simple reason as its not for me, I dont understand it, So i feel its not right for me to say its garbage, etc. Same goes for Country music…
I am no 50 Cent fan, but one of those songs is actually pretty good and has a great beat. I just cant stand when people say an entire genre sucks and is garbage when there are a multitude of different styles and so forth. I personally hate Lil Wayne and think he is the epitomy of garbage music. But that doesnt reflect on the rest of the music I love. I love all kinds of music, because they all have something to offer.
hey truehorror, i like ‘metal music’ period. the term death sounds so negative, i refrain from that word when listing my favorite genre of music. along with black metal, hardcore, grind core and any other sub-genre title different parts of the country have labeled it.
secondly im a christian. on my bands myspace page we are labeled ‘progressive melodic christian metal’ if you dont understand metal music maybe you should give it a listen, as it is satan free!
Rap died when Eazy E did. It started to suck when the DJ went south, when “sampling” became a crime. This crap that is out today just sucks! It died in the early 90s, and has never been the same. I just listen to he old stuff. I grew up with rap, when it started, way back in 82, grandmaster flash to Melle Mell. And then on to Egyptian lover, and Uncle Jams army.Way before Run DMC. It was fun back then, in the early 80s. It just sucks nowadays. Im feel bad for today’s youth. They just don’t know there history(of hip hop that is). It will never be as good as it was back then. Rodney O and Joe Cooley, even Jazzy Jeff was a great DJ. Back when a crate of 12’’ records,2 technics 1200s, a newmark mixer, and a Roland SP 1200 was all you needed. At least we have the classics…
I gotta say without offending anybody, that some people who posted are saying things similar to people who dislike horror movies. We all have our personal taste. I personally am a 50 Cent fan, and a rapper myself. I do respect all types of music. For instance, I can’t get into metal. I doesn’t appeal to me. I don’t understand it and can’t relate to it, but I respect it. As many of you can’t relate or see the appeal in rap, I hope you can still respect it as an artist making their particular art. Same goes for movies, I’m not a fan of anti-christ and demon horror movies, but there are certinetly many who do. That also can go to those who bash rob zombie by the way, just be respectful when stating your opinion. thank you for listening to me rant.
tell me why I knew any time rap is mentioned people in here where going to try and slam it as if i rock is where it’s a nowadays, have you looked at your genre lately ? it’s just as if not more so gimmicky then anything any of you are in here lampooning rap about.
