Hello everyone. I have had an NAG UL75 Kirk retool since 2008 and have only taken it out of the case a few times. When I handle the mask I try not to let it touch my hands and use vinyl gloves. Since I got it it’s been dusted with cornstarch twice I believe. It has been in a glass case about the whole time and has been in the shade and in my closet for the last three years since I moved. Is the latex on NAG masks naturally very soft or should I be worried about latex breakdown? I ask this because this is the only NAG mask I own.
Thank you for the response sbasinger. I get paranoid with my “Holy Grail” because it the best Kirk I have in my collection. It has so much detail! The other two Kirks (aside from my Myers masks) are both Trick or Treat Studios ones that were both Christmas presents (one will stay mint with tag and the other I am currently working on repainting and rehairing Whew!) It is only comparison and I am not bashing on any masks by the way.
Nag uses surgical quality latex. It feels soft but it will actually last longer than other kinds.
Trick or treat seems liek their latex is mixed with some type of plastic as it doesnt feel like typical latex. Anyone know what they use?
Some batches of latex can randomly be bad.
I’ve seen a few old school NAGS rot while others look good as new…
I have an old Nightowl mask thats still in pristine condition but a later model I got had started to rot.
Latex can be unpredictable.
