Yeah, only one person has given him the credit so far, and that was the first person to replicate the sculpt, plus it doesn’t help it’s been put on youtube by another channel, I personally am not a fan of the shape 78 sculpt honestly, it doesn’t look any different from the other masks, the only thing that is impressive is sculpting in 3 hours
The initial photo he posted had very smooth creases in the eyes, similar to clay melted into a smooth surface. So that for now makes me think it could be a retool of another mask he stretched but it’s hard to tell!
yeah pretty much, at the end of the road the pronounced Castle stretch is nothing so new, collectors are already comparing this with the FPS Spectre, so did they with the Somnambulist’s, but it’s becoming a trend now so each artist wanna have its own it seems
The sculpture looks beautiful. Judging by the bottom of the neck, it’s a retooled clay pour. I look forward to seeing it finished!
While The Somnambulist isn’t original in sculpting a Castle Stretch mask, I’d say he’s responsible for revitalizing excitement in the concept. Nikos has a tendency to copy other artist’s concepts. Almost every non-Myers related project he has taken was done by another artist first, which is naturally frustrating.
this really looks like the sculpt from the Somnambulist. I’m probably wrong but man it looks like it. Its awesome regardless. Nik kicks @ss with his sculpts
The Somnambulist’s sculpture was a huge hit on the MM.net Facebook page as well.
I don’t think it matters much. Pre-stretched masks were in-vogue years ago, and it’s cool to see it come back into style. I’d like to see Nikos tackle a new Dick Warlock mask.
I personally think this mask lands the best H1 look out of ALL of Niks makes honestly. I know it’s not finished but so far it looks like the mask from the 78 film almost identical!!
The purpose of the pronounced stretch is giving the stretch without stretching it, so size is not a problem, The Spectre comes pretty large, fits best from 24 to 25
