I understand where you are coming from . The sculpt only gives the stretch of the mask, there is some padding involved to make it look like an actual person. If you could only imagine the questions i asked myself when making this
is the head tilted too much or too little?
Why does he have the sad look here with the eyes? why cant i get that feature? how should i do it?
Are his eyes to close to the mask? should it be higher? should it be lower?
how did he fit his afro into the mask? obviously the forehead is a bit bigger here? did he cut his hair for the movie? if he did when and what scene?
what about the mask hair? close by… it looks good?.From far looks like crap? looks like he has a pompadour here or does he?..man the hair in this scene is completely flat…trying to do the hair right is a pain!
why is the jawline stretched too much here, looks like he is smiling looks like he is not, maybe he moved the mask close to his jaw in this picture…
After Two years…finally got what i thought was good…believe me there was more questions like that, it was a headache if i remove the mask, those two years are gone . Hope this helps
THE EVOLUTION OF MY LIFE SIZE…
I have gotten many questions and the Michael Myers…how much time etc, what , how, how did you start? Here is an evolution of how it got started
First off, I’ll never forgive myself for missing this thread. Rick, this Mannequin is beyond amazing. In fact, calling it amazing would be a HUGE understatement. I honestly can’t think of words to describe it, it just blows my mind. I was fascinated by the Hedge Scene Mannequin (In the fourth pic) you made a little over a year ago, but this one… (With all due respect to your past Mannequins) COMPLETELY BLOWS IT TO SMITHEREENS!!! The way you made it look as if Castles head were actually inside the mask (That James did an outstanding job on BTW) is incredible. This is without a doubt, one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen on this site, BAR NONE!!!
I apologize for posting this comment extremely late, but I couldn’t help myself, lol. Thanks for taking the time to share these great pics of this beautiful Mannequin. …ANDY
Andy, thank you very much for the compliment brother! I know that you have always given me props and I seriously appreciate that brother. You are correct my friend, it did take about a year or so . In fact, without you guys this truly would have not been made possible. It was a whole lot of work, reference pictures and headaches lol. Thank you brother, thank you!
