Nik is the man and his masks are great, but its the same thing to recreate his mask and sell it as your own…isnt it illegal in general? like every mask…no offense to anyone but i mean its true i feel bad for this kid
that means he changed it after the clay pour, this is called retooling. You recast something and slightly change it, in this case some things were slightly changed, but there is no doubt that is a cast of the animatronic head. now, since these are not being made for profit, it isnt a huge deal.
THere is a big difference to recast something that is not in existance practically and recasting something that its sculpted 2 years ago and they selling it right now as an animatronic head, tell me one good reason why im sitting down and sculpting the 3 versions of the RZ myers mask and im not buying the same head and recasting it???i know im an idiot and i shouldnt be here anymore making new masks…

I personally don’t see what’s wrong with the guy making himself a copy. He isn’t trying to make money off the masks. So what if his friend sold his copy? It’s ONE MASK. It isn’t like he’s taking away from anyone’s precious sales. No one has gotten the mask perfect yet, and anyone who claims they’ve done so is an arrogant prick. You sculptors have gotten it pretty close, but not nearly accurate enough to brag like you do. The guy obviously wanted something that satisfied him without having his wallet raped. I remember back when the animatronic figure was first announced, a good bit of you were all about claypressing the head to make masks, so what’s the problem now? Leave the guy alone and let him enjoy his goddamn mask.
So im an arrogantprick(like you said) if i claim that my new h9 is the most accurate? You cant have an opinion to something that is not your business and you are not involved and watch your mouth kid!

This bullsh** has driven me to pretty much not care about recasting anymore. Bottom line is, most of us here can spot a recast a mile away and they are almost always poorly done. Take the recaster on eBay for example who has recasted Justin’s Maniac. Poorly recasted and poorly finished. Really, who cares? This is on the same level, to me, as “claypressing” a screenused mask in order to get the most accurate mask possible. The guy isn’t even selling these (yet), so why is everyone up his ass so quick? Because Nik is the H9 mask god here and heaven forbid anyone top him? If 1971 does decide to sell these, it’s simple. If you believe him to be in the right, go ahead, buy one. If not, then don’t buy one. Simple as that.
No disrespect Nik, but where’s the proof he even recasted? So far all I’ve heard is say so. I know I’m no mask maker by any means but I’ve seen the animatronc in person and I don’t see a resemblance here.
You’re no one to make rules for me, sir. You have no authority over me whatsoever. Besides, I never said you were a prick for claiming yours was the most accurate. I said people who claim their masks are PERFECT are pricks. I think you should re-read what I said more closely.
