The theory would be awesome but JLC has physically aged too much to do a continuation of the same night like she did 3 years after the original. I’m just happy there is so much nostalgia in this film judging by this new trailer
There was someone on social media who came up with something rather cool;
That all the sequels after halloween 1978 could be seen as fantasies of michael while being locked up for the past 40 years. Thought the idea was kinda cool, as with most franchises nowadays they do “prequels” in comic book form or novels, would be kinda original to have a prequel book that shows what michael did during his time incarcerated, and that would be the sequels being his fantasies.
My theory… In the graveyard scene, few people asking if he’s wearimg a mask or if it’s his beard. I reckon it’s some weird white face paint he wears after he escapes. That’s why he’s stalking the journalist couple- to get his mask back. He finally catches up with them at the garage bloodbath and gets the mask.
I agree she has, but I’m saying it could possibly pick up with following Michael around right after he’s been shot and fallen off the balcony, and now we see him trying to get away before the police catch him. That way, they don’t have to show Laurie or Loomis.
Lol, like I said, I’m probably way off here. Just a thought I had, but yes, the voice over would make it appear to not work out that way. Of course, the voice over could be there to throw people off.
As soon as that long take started… I was 100% sold. So glad they are going for that kind of feel. Because that style is what Halloween was all about, that glide of the camera, long takes… That feel was back. I really have a great feeling about this movie.
I think Carpenter just threw in a lot of nods to prior films and nostalgia but this is most definitely 40 years later and not a continuation of the same night. Remember, the first trailer show him in a psych hospital after being captured for those kills.
They did a fantastic job with that trailer! The Beggars’ Night scenes remind me of my other favorite Halloween movie, Trick 'r Treat. It’s dripping with Halloween imagery. I think this is the one we’ve all been waiting for.
Oh no, I don’t think the whole movie is a continuation of that night. Just that one scene. Like the movie could open with him walking to the Elrod house and killing Mrs Elrod, grabbing the knife, walking back outside only to get captured by the cops. Then the opening credits run (hopefully with a dope pumpkin and Halloween theme), and then the movie starts 40 years later with the documentary crew. Like I said, I’m probably way off and not explaining myself properly either. Either way, I’m super hyped for this movie.
The head turn shouldnt be exploited too much, i mean it was a classic moment when he did in the first film but nowadays it would be too cliché if he did that. For some reason in that first film its a nice and haunting the way nick castle did it but when they did it in other films it just didnt feel right, like in h6. And i dont think there will be any scenes from 1978, those that think there will be are wrong. If they do it right it should start with a pumpkin like in the original, its been a while that hasnt been done and if theyre trying to connect the first one with this one they need to do that. As for the opening scene who knows.
Everything after H1 wasn’t John Carpenter. The head turn after a kill was Myers’ signature look and none did it like Nick. I bet ya we have quite a few in this film. Mikey has to check out and approve of his work!
