I had sometime to myself today and decided to watch Robs two “Halloween” movies back to back.
When watched this way the characters become full of depth and thoroughly believable and the story of their lives much more tragic as they spiral towards disaster. This is the way to show these movies to your friends or family who haven’t seen them. Only then I think, will they understand the power of this story of madness and appreciate Rob’s vision for the mythology.

a thread in general diss. about H6 got me to thinking again about how terrible all the mid Halloween sequels really are.
the good qualities of those films are few and far between.
I agree fully. Sure his vision wraps up the story, but at least it does it in a sensible way.

i think he completely destroyed everything about the characters in the last half of H2 so avoid any possibility of an H3. because the exact same thing would happen to his vision as john carpenter’s. if i had my way with the original series i would just have H1, H2, and then skip all the way to H20 and have it end with michael ACTUALLY being decapitated. none of that resurrection bullhonky.
Exactly my thoughts my friend. The original series was spiraling down the tubes. I saw hope with H20 but then watched it get dashed away in the next film with one foul swoop. Then in comes Zombie and we get a serious horror drama that is thought provocing and grizzly at the same time. People bitch at how different it is and I say thank god for that.
