Overseas shipping.

When you guys ship overseas are you able to provide a USPS tracking number? From what I understand there’s no way to track a package once it leaves the US unless you go International Express, is that what you all have been told?

-Bryan

Ou can provide a customs number, which really doesn’t provide a ton of info. You can see when the package enters customs, but I don’t think you can see when it leaves.

GOOD TO SEE YA BACK ON THE BOARD BRYAN!! HOPE ALL IS WELL BROTHER!

Hey Bry,

From what I have been told by several postal employees (including my mother who worked for usps for 7 years) is that there is no way offered to actually track a package outside of the US. As mentioned before the customs number is the only thing I’ve ever been given. There may be a delivery confirmation type way to ensure the package is received by someone where you are sending it but I’m not too sure about that. Hope this helps.

P.S. Good to “see” you again

When i ship int out of New York you can choose registered mail for an extra $11 but you must also ship priority express which is almost double the price than shipping flat rate.
exp: $12 to italy no tracking, express registered and youre looking at about $30.
I know all this from mailing about 5 int pkgs in the last 2 months.
Also keep in mind certain countries wont even let you ship registered

Thanks guys and thanks for the welcome

I’m actually having a problem with a customer in Germany. He never got the 2 masks I sent out back at the beginning of Feb. I usually keep all my receipts but I can’t seem to find his so I have no way of giving him any proof (customs #) that the masks were shipped out. Without proof I really have nothing. I don’t really have any reason to believe that he’s lying about getting them so I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt and shipping him 2 more masks. Was hoping to find out there was something with USPS International Shipping that I was missing in terms of tracking #'s but it looks like what I had been told all along was true. Anyone ever ship international using UPS? I know it’s more expensive, but is it a lot more?

sikwitit77… speaking of Italy, I no longer even ship there. I think of the 10 or so times I’ve sent something there like 9 of those packages were lost once they arrived at Italian customs. That’s an exaggeration of course, but really though, Italy’s postal service seems really screwy.

agreed…tommy

Yes, UPS is waaay more expensive!
The same package to the United Kingdom was $93 UPS and $30 USPS with tracking(even though it almost went to saudi arabia, their mistake!)
UPS is great for large boxes within the US and much less expensive than USPS
USPS is the only way, unfortunately, to ship a mask or anything of that size internationally, unless you want to pay big bucks with ups, dhl, pegasus
Hope this helps, Dave

Also if you declare the actual amount of the item(really anything over $40), the customers country will tax there ass off, but its the only way for you to get fully refunded if anything goes wrong in turn refunding the customer otherwise if you put a low amount and the package is lost you will only get what you put the value as.Sorry for info overload!

i was told by a postal clerk, italy has the most corrupt postal system in the world
i would never ship anything there by any method but express mail with tracking…

For the record, USPS can be tracked in Japan.
Any tracking number can also be tracked down with EMS Japan.

Yep, you need the customs number #CP…US At least if you use the priority mail parcel… the standard method won’t do that… That makes me track it until my doorstep…

Nick

customs number works great, ive tracked many parcels n seen when its arrived at customs and customs have cleared. It really helps (oh in australia)
