@SHAPEINTHEVOID —100% AGREED DUDE!!! Remember the charm of old-school Halloween decorations? Back in the day, when we were ALL kids—MANY moons ago—those decorations were simple yet magical. Made from paper or thin cardboard, we’d carefully salvage and hang them up YEAR to YEAR, doing our best to avoid tearing them. We avoided tape if we could, and when we needed it, we’d buy decorations from a local mom-and-pop pharmacy, which always had its own unique, nostalgic smell—like a comforting blend of medicated powder, school supplies, Spaulding balls, and candy. Most of us can still recall those smells vividly.

Though we didn’t have much money, those visits to the store were exciting, just to admire the decorations displayed. Inspired, we’d head home and craft our own: drawing spooky faces on old bedsheets or pillowcases, stuffing them with socks or whatever we had on hand. The pride in our eyes when we placed our homemade ghost in the yard, knowing we were among the first in the neighborhood to celebrate Halloween, was priceless. Those childhood memories remind us that sometimes, the simplest things bring the most joy. :beer_mug::kitchen_knife::jack_o_lantern:

Alright, everyone—things are starting to come together bit by bit. I’ve been busy planning, organizing, and letting my creativity run wild to shake things up. Take a look at the photo of some tin signs I’ve hung up in my space, along with a mix of other pieces and the newly painted stairs. The paintings are black light reactive, and the Halloween flickering lights really make everything stand out in the dark (please note: not lit in this photo). I’m thinking about turning the bottom walls once all the way down, into modern-style murals that blend various art genres. If my space and vision align with the lighting, I’d love to create a five-foot-tall tribute to horror and slasher icons like Michael Myers, covering the entire back wall of my shop. That’s a long-term project, but it’ll keep me busy for a while and will have to be done in stages. Still, I’m excited to see how far I’ve come. :jack_o_lantern::kitchen_knife:

Would love to see the full space. Mines a cluttered disaster. Wish i had the room. Hard to work on multiple things at one time.
And ya, just takes time and effort for sure.

I’m in the same boat, dude. Life’s challenges can be overwhelming in a good way, motivating you to do better—moving 10 steps forward, then 20 back is just part of the process. I stay ahead by organizing into sections, labeling, and using bins, shelves, and containers. I consistently clear out trash and adapt when distractions disrupt plans. I take breaks, listen to my body, and remember I’m not as young as I used to be. When things get tough, I slow down, stretch, and stick to the mindset: if it doesn’t fit, don’t force it. I also meditate, listen to good music, eat well, hydrate often, give myself time to think, and surround myself with great people and only the best positive energy. Good vibes only, dude— don’t let anybody steal your “energy"!

How do you get that grey background on your text?

Ya extremely overwhelming. I have a hard time not letting outside influences take over my headspace. Frustrating.
Probably why I come to talk to you guys here, i don’t really have anyone that’s as passionate about Halloween as I am.
