When you put your Myers masks into display cases, doesn’t the static from the fresh case cause the hair to frizzle??
Meaning the hair starts to stand. It’s horrible especially mohair.
Any ways of preventing this?
Thanks
Acrylic is used in some of my framed art (acrylic is more optically pure than most glass) and this stuff does a great job cleaning and minimizing static.
Thanks again Benny
Yeah, I just checked some sites and found sprays for plastic and acrylic that prevent static.
Don’t want my masks to look like Young Einstein.lol
Nope, I just re-checked it. I even rubbed the case in order to make it statically charged but still no fuzzy hair .Not sure though why acrylic doesn’t have that… Downside it’s not cheap. I made a case myself but a few acrylic plates cost me about $300 and I had to assemble them myself! So actually the cases from Scott are very, very reasonably priced! I wanted to order one as well but shipping over to Europe is bit of a hassle… so I decided to make one myself.
Brillianize is great stuff. You don’t really get static on the acrylic too much but it is there. Lower grade plastics and acrylic have more charge on the surface for sure. It really depends on the environment the case is in from my experience. Also if your case is standing on carpet or tile can make a difference.
