Ok so
I’m about to get my own place in like 3 months
and my girlfriend will be moving in with me as well,
I’m a collector and just got into the whole mask collecting :mrgreen: I dont just collect masks but
also collect horror figures not those cheap ones but the ones that are like $50+$150

Now of course as soon as I get my own place I want to display my stuff
but BIG PROBLEM LOL my girlfriend wont let me
shes says that the apartment will look retarted and people will think we are crazy :laughing:
plus shes terrified of my figures :laughing:

she says that she will give me my own room to display all my stuff but nothing outside of it
lmao do you guys think thats fair?

Im pretty sure im not the only one whos gone or is going through this…

lmao this is so embarrassing :blush: but thought id share it with you guys…
so what do you think? how do you guys deal with this?

Honestly i can understand where she is coming from. I only got about 4 masks displayed in my room in cases and a Poster on the wall framed, and some people already think im crazy or I have issues. Funny thing is, Im not even a big horror mask collector, just admire some of my favorite masks. If you dont care how people see your hobby as, then by all means display them whereever you want, make sure to let her know that. In a way its kind of unfair too but look at it from both point of views. I say just display it in a room and call it a day. It looks better that way IMO.

i think it would be much cooler to have a room devoted to horror so you could just take it all in instead of being spread around an apartment but that’s just me

I totally agree with this comment!!! Here’s what you should do! Tell her to put all of her girly stuff in that one room, and tell her to stay in their with her stuff, and see how she likes it!! LOL Tell her, that your horror collection will be in every room, except that one,so she could have that room to herself!! LMAO

Leave her…or dismember her and display the pieces :laughing: :laughing: Just kidding,but really,you need to be able to express your passion.It’s not good if she doesn’t understand or at least accept it.

I pretty much say the same thing…its still a hobby for me regardless and Im not going to let someone else ruin it for me. Im proud of what I own and proud of being a fan of one of the best horror movies ever made. People that are crazy or have issues are the people who are missing out on this hobby. :mrgreen:

Bro, theres nothing to really think about, Now I wouldn’t deck out the whole house in your collectables ( unless your paying all the bills, then in that case tell her you were lookin for a GF when you found her ), but if your going half on all the bills then display your prized possessions in the main areas, then you take the rest of what you have and display that in the room that you call your own.

I prefer to have a room devoted to my hobbies. Granted i have some stuff displayed in my house, but i would rather not have people touching and messing up my prized pieces. Plus theres more security with the stuff in a seperate room. But if she has stuff out that you dont like she has to compromise a little!!!
