Shout Factory - Halloween II & III 4K Steelbooks. (Pics)

I received these in the mail about two weeks ago and totally forgot to share them! I picked up the Halloween II and Halloween III steelbooks with the 4K scans from Shout Factory. The 4K is a big bonus don’t get me wrong, especially since I am set up to be able to watch them. The big deal here is the steelbooks. My word, are they fantastic. Some colors matte, some gloss, and they wrap sround the whole case. 11/10 in my books, plus the company was more than accommodating. Just a few pictures below. Thanks!

Cool :sunglasses:

Thank you! Wish there was an H1 steelbook, in 4k. Have the slipcover 4k H1 in the mail as we speak. Merry belated Christmas to me, haha!

For clarification, these are not 4k blu ray disks. They still output at 1080p.

Not sure I follow… why would they advertise them as such? Perhaps you could elaborate?

These are 4K “scans” from an interpositive.
Got mine, they’re great! :tonqe:

Looks like the non-steelbook 4k’s are on their way in Aug/Sept.

Ah, I see now. Just got my Halloween 1978 in, that is an actually 4k scan, the resolution is 2160. My mystake. That’s a bit of a scam if you ask me, but the “up-res’d” scans and the steelbooks were still worth it for me. I only had the standard copies from the Best Buy bundle. Thanks fellas!

Yea, a 4K “Scan” of an actual film print on a 1080 blu ray can exceed the images of that of a 4K UHD disc which may have been transferred from an ole HD source.
Scanning and restoring a film in 4K and putting out a film on 4k UHD is both an expensive process. Most companies won’t do both.
While major companies will go the flavor of the mass route by releasing old titles on UHD, independent companies such as Scream Fac will take the time to go back to the original source and restore them.

I’m still new with 4k. So I appreciate the information and will keep it in mind for my next media purchases. Been on 4k about a year now.
