As SOME of you may know, I cancelled my Halloween film entitled “Halloween: The Curse of Thorn” last year because I lost interest in the project and (don’t go crazy on me) I kind of lost interest in Michael Myers. Just kind of. Not completley. Then, I recently watched the great fan film “Halloween: Return of The Sandman”. It was such a great fan film! Best one I’ve seen in a while! It was so great that it got me back into the spirit of making my fan film from start to finish. Last night, I went out and got some Energizer Lithium batteries (those things are the s**t btw lol) and came back home and filmed a scene with my step dad. He was an unexpirienced actor when we were filming but he did really great! I was impressed with his work. He didn’t laugh on camera or anything. Anyway, what happens in this scene is Michael has just escaped from the sanitarium (not filmed yet, to be filmed soon) and he needs a ride home…MUAH HAHA! So he kills this guy and takes his truck. This is a workprint scene with sample music by Darren Jones. Also, I might end up using this version of the scene, I like the way it turned out but I’ll see if Darren can make it creepier. There is also a piece of creepy guitar work in there too…an H6 type of sound…it’s creepy. Hope you guys enjoy it! Oh and BTW, there is some very harsh language in this scene. And my step dad also messed up one of his lines which was, “Halloween was yesterday.” when he was supposed to say, “I thought tomorrow was Halloween.” Okay, anyway, here’s the clip. Enjoy!
Well, I warned everyone. Very harsh language! I really wish he wouldn’t of cussed that much but he was just helping us out and being nice but either way his performence was good.
Like I have always said, sometime in the summer. I don’t know when but this movie WILL be done!! Do you like the scene? I 'm thinking of redoing the scene because of the very harsh language and too much gore. I’m just cutting out the flesh on the knife (thats actually chicken skin BTW covered in fake blood )
18 “F” BOMBS in 3.5 minutes That’s gotta be some kind of record. Glad to hear you are thinking about editing out all that unnecessary language. It’s not needed man. Just watch Carpenters HALLOWEEN 78 I don’t think there’s one “F” BOMB to be heard. Good luck on your film. Mike
i hear people talk like that every day… probably why i tolerated the RZ movies as much as i did if you are shooting for a more classic halloween feel edit down the dialouge for sure other than that i liked it a lot
if you are going to re-shoot the whole thing try to avoid having that floodlight directly in the shot to cut down on lens flare
i loved the rz films, and didnt mind the swearing, but, truly, i think i heard more swearing in this than in rzs halloween,LOL, but, that doesnt mean this isnt good, i thought the whole part with michael, was extremely creepy, very well made, cant wait to see this finished dude,Z
Well, I also forgot to say (well i don’t even have to say) that when we made this my step dad was pretty well drunk and he cusses A LOT when he’s drunk. I’m planning on reshooting the scenes with the explicit dialogue and cutting out the flesh on the knife. I’m going to release two versions of the film (well i’m going to try to at least) so not all the stuff that we shoot won’t go to waste because we like to have fun with fake blood. Thanks for the advice and comments guys! I appriciate it!
You really thought it was that well made and creepy? I appriciate it! And btw, I hope everyone knows (including you) that the curse of Thorn has a big part in this movie. But I’m going to try to make it as classic as possible including the kind of big amount gore and Thorn. I hope everyone enjoys the final product when it’s released! Thanks guys!
It looks really nice, but just one thing: When you edit the real movie, please try to take out that camera sound when you start and stop the camera, but other than that…Great!
