So...I finally watched H2...

Watched it yesterday online, the directors cut that is.(theatre version still has no release date in Japan…)
Actually I found it more entertaing than RZ H1. I’ll give it a 3 star for now.
I didn’t watch it to expect a Halloween movie at all, no one can remake the original. What I found was an over the top artsy expolitation movie. I do agree some of the violence was over done and the over use of the F word was lame. RZ wife’s acting was pretty bad in this one and so was Malcom McDowell. The “Die!!” scene, I can live with that.
I do think the pacing was much better, wasn’t as boring as the H1 remake. The cuts and fade in & outs were good. The camera work was much better, displaying cool lighting and angles. The scares were much better…well maybe not scary to our standards.lol
I did love the music which reminded me of 70s Euro B-movie music.

Like I said I do not think of this as a Halloween movie. I could tell RZ didn’t want to make another Halloween. To me this was RZs surreal vision of a slasher movie. Or a Serial killer version of The Good the Bad and the Ugly.
Laurie:Good
Michael:Bad
Loomis:Ugly
Of course no way associated with Leonne’s epic.
Yes the movie is insane. I agree why many hate it.
Either RZ was crazy or he knew what he was doing. So insane of a movie I can accept it as it is. He sure hell knew this was gonna piss off the majority of fans. I wouldn’t mind seeing it a few years later again.

Later

I thought Michael was awesome in this movie. Alot more intense then in any of the other movies.

I agree with you K , i watched it for the first time 2 nights ago. I pretty much agree with your review…what was your favorite scene?

Hell yeah ! :axe: The original ending was better then the “DIE !” ending.

I have nothing against Tyler. I can accept him. Those scenes of him walking through the sunset were cool.
Kinda Spagetti western
Believe it or not the last scene with Laurie smiling, staring at her mother I liked.
That is sooo F****ed up. You really need to clear your thoughts to enjoy this film.
I didn’t watch this because I wanted too. I watched it because I was bored to death
I think that helped.

 the alternative ending is pretty f’d up as well , where she picks up michaels knife. The scene where michael lifts the car is EPIC

That car lifting scene was pure crazy
It looked better than I expected!
RZ did a great job of using the hospital sequence as a dream.
To me that was RZs way of saying,“Well here’s your 20-30minutes of Halloween homage you brats, now on with MY movie!!”
Quite clever.lmao

The theatrical ending I think was better to me. The alternate ending was good but not the best he could have done so much more than that simple of a ending. Like in h9 he turned a cop shooting into Michael tackling Laurie out a window and shooting him in the head.

Still need to see the theatrical ending
I will probably lmao when I see Laurie wearing the mask

Imagine a 6 year old wearing a Prop Shop Psychopath V2 then you pretty much have it. A big mask on a little person.

Ok
Daeg with the clown mask was pretty sick enough!
Big fat kid with a tiny mask.

Ya like the big mask on daeg kinda thing but a thin skinny woman.

i seen h2 in theaters, and i watched it online last night, i thought it was an amazing movie, no doubt an awesome film, my favorite thing was the kills, they were pure genius, no movie has had kills like h2 did, and i love michael being very brutal, Z

I watched it again online a couple nights ago aswell brotha K
and I also agree with a couple of your statements about the movie. There were some parts I enjoyed and some were I was like WTF!
I especialy wasn’t happy wit the fact that for some parts of the movie Michael was maskless :frowning: and Malcom mcDowell’s acting was not as great as it was in the first one.
But there were a few killing scenes that I was very saticfied with e.g. the guy behind the strip club getting his head stept on :smiling_imp: that was brutal!
I aslo thought scout did a tremendous job changing her character from a sweet inocent girl in the first movie to a fucked up insane girl, that was pretty special. But I agree with you…she needed to tone down on using the ‘F’ word alot lol…there are limits

Thanks for your input my friend. will you be buying the DVD?

The damn weinsteins are probably gonna sell them separately :smiling_imp:
Money making bastards!
I’ll definetly purchase this version not as a Halloween movie but as a piece of cinematic history of craziness.

Yes Scout was much better in this one :stuck_out_tongue:
Loved her punk looks while dancing to “Kick out the Jams”
This movie is pure violent psychedelica :smiling_imp:

I watched it for the first time about 4 nights ago and I must say it rocked.I liked everything about it.Rob Zombies hillbilly redneck movies kick ass.Tyler did an amazing job too.Yes hes a giant Michael Myers but he kicked ass all through the movie.Even his grunting didnt bother me too bad.LOL…Bravo!!!1

yes, finally someone with the same opinion as me, lol, i agree on everything u just said, i may watch it again tonight!

I love all of Robs movies.I think his best was devils rejects.Im going to have to watch H2 again soon.

The hillbilly essence was annoying to the many in the 1st due to the fact that RZ was trying to make a Halloween movie. This 2nd installment didn’t bother me at all strangely, probably because RZ was just being himself. It’s either a love it or hate it situation.

glad to hear you finally seen it kazi. i didnt think it was too bad, its my 4th favorite in the series. wheather one chooses to view it as a Halloween film or not it bears the title and will always be our 10th installment of the series.
