Just finished this pumpkin up this morning and thought id post it. This started out as an “Ugly Funkin” which is a more naturally shaped and ridged pumpkin made my Funkin. (makers of high quality polyurethene pumpkins)
After it was carved and the correct dings were added, it was sanded, then wet sanded. Followed by a complete washing of the inside and out. All the cut out areas were sealed and coated with Sculpey polymer Glaze giving the exposed pumpkin flesh a moist fresh look. Another added bonus is the funkin has a black/brown paint layer under the orange layer, making the cut out edges of pumpkin skin look as though they are drying up. Let me know what you guys think and if anyone is interested in one, since i made some templates, pm me and i’ll gladly do one up for ya .
also a big thanks to both Warlock and Matthew mayhem for being the inspiration in these. Your comments are very welcome.
Much appreciated. to me the pumpkin skin isn’t good enough, so im in the process of applying a few layers of sealer and matte sculpey glaze to kinda bring the pumpkin skin a little gloss and just a more fresh, realistic look.
