I have a feeling its something to do with legal issues. If theyâre gonna make coveralls that look EXACTLY like Workrites (same pocket flap, same collar) couldnât Workrite sue them or something? Maybe thats why theyâre going with a color that Workrite doesnât even offer?
The only coveralls they offer in spruce are the Nomex coveralls. The screenused are definitely ultrasoft. The only charcoal coveralls Workrite offers are Ultrasoft
they should have no trouble selling charcoal ones, but letâs face it, their H2 ones are of terrible quality so no point holding out for these, better off just buying the real ones before they go up in price
Will do! I love weathering clothes. Its very therapeutic. Iâm gonna wait for some better pictures of the weathering before I jump in. I strive for accuracy
I was looking into the Halloween4/5 coveralls. It is incredibly difficult to find a good shot of the chest pockets for Halloween 5 in particular, but one I did find looks different from the Halloween 4 coveralls. While theyâre both undoubtedly heavily weathered fisher stripe coveralls, the chest pocket on part five looks rectangular to me, while the Halloween 4 coveralls have rounded edges. Did Big Mac make these with a rectangular pocket flap?
Compare the chest flap in these two pictures.
Another thing is I canât find any shots from Halloween 5 with the big obvious âBig Macâ button showing at the neck. Obviously, much of the time the mask neck hangs over that area, but I canât even see it in this picture. Compare this with how obvious the button is in the above promo pic for Halloween 4.
hmmmm⌠Good catch man!! Iâm going to do some digging and maybe text Don and ask. He told me prior that the coveralls were burnt up so weâll just have to go on screenshots and BTS photos.
Sweet, definitely let me know if he has any further info. I always assumed, the films being made so close together, the coveralls had to be the same (if not the exact same pair, I assume they bought multiples to fit stunt guys, Tom Morga, etc.) Itâs really tough to tell through the weathering, but looking at that last pic I posted, the coveralls almost seem to be blue fisher stripe, as well. Itâs wild that they thought to get fisher stripe coveralls, but they have these differences.
My question is: why havenât we figured out the coveralls used in the original Halloween? We know the exact brand and style for every other movie, but how has nobody figured it out?
What would be an explanation for this? Were they possibly made by a brand that doesnât exist anymore? Maybe the brand wasnât popular?
Iâm really starting to jump on the theory that the 78 coveralls are Big Macs with a custom pocket flap. Maybe the original pairâs flap was ripped off, so they sewed a piece of cloth over it to ârepairâ them? I just feel like if we will ever know the brand, we would know it by now. Itâs been 40 years for goodness sakes. I donât think this will ever be settled
From my perspective, a lot of films will resorting to using rare items, or pieces that are dead stock in their time period, and of course Big Mac could most likely have several model numbers, each being different in style, the colour isnât as rare, from what Tommy has said, though unless we were on set, we wonât know what it is, though some coveralls are known to have the tags taken off with the brand
Also we donât know every exact brand and style, apparently. The H5 are something different than weâve previously thought, too.
Here are several reasons why they may not have been found:
They are possibly an off year where the design was altered by the company so very few or none exist.
They are vintage 40s/50s/60s and NOT 70s.
It was an off-brand with very limited production.
I can definitely tell you that they were NOT modified Big Macs by production. Sure maybe they could have been an off year by Bic Mac where the flap was altered by the actual company, but no one on the film changed it.
It was a small budget film and that is a detail that absolutely no one would have changed. There wouldnât have been any reason to. Not only that but the sewing on the pocket flap is 100% professional. The seam lines are neat, straight, and complete. Definitely not the work of a film crew who needed to sew on a pocket.
2 more possibilities from where they got them are this:
They were custom made for some military company and they bought them from an army/navy type store.
They borrowed them from a mechanic shop.
They got them from a goodwill thrift store.
The coveralls were very roughed up in H1. So much so that I almost doubt of Production did it. Itâs likely that they got these second hand from one of the above options, unless they weathered them by themselves. The only thing is no one has ever mentioned doing this, but Iâve contacted several people who could answer to a lot of the questions weâve been asking.
Thinking weâll never know it is no way to think, man ! These things WILL be found, just think about how long it took to find out the brand of knife!
We will be finding out sooner than we all think, Iâm sure!
Thanks for the info! Youâre right, gotta keep that positive mindset. I agree with you though, they are most likely an off brand in my opinion. Maybe even an off brand from 40s/50s/60s like you said!
