Thick or Thin??

With all of the Awesome Replica Myers Masks out there I’ve wondered. When Jamie Lee pulls the mask off of Tony Moran in H1 it appears to be really thin when he puts it back on. If this is so, how come nobody makes a thin Myers mask like that :unamused: ???

I’m sure there is a good reason…but I’m just curious…

Nick :drinkers:

Thicker pulls last a lifetime :sunglasses:

I have had a mask as thin as that and from my point of view you should be glad they are not like that…they can rip really easy

I thought that was the reason, but I always like to hear your guys oppinions…Thank you!

I’ve owned a really thin H78 that could pull that same roll effect and personally i dont like my masks THAT thin. If you lay the mask down ,unstuffed and it collapses, its too thin for my likings. Like K said, thicker pulls can last a lifetime if taken care of properly.

if I drop a ton of cash on an h1/h2 replica, I want it as accurate as it can be. that being said, the thinner the better

You can ask for it to be casted thin…

Thin for wearing, thick for display. Of course for accuracy, thin is the best choice and you can stuff it to your liking.

Well for the most part all the screen used masks were thin. And being thin doesn’t mean they’ll rot easier. They are made from the same high quality latex as all the other masks, but they can tear easier.

Although thin is more accurate, I prefer thicker stuff. They hold their shape better and without having to stuff them.

You all have given me a lot to consider. At this point, I do prefer the thicker masks for display, but I think I might want a thinner one too. The thinner ones remind me of the old school masks that I grew up with so it might be kinda cool

I didn’t realize that you could request a thinner pull. Maybe on the next one I’ll give it a try. I know they are easier to rip, but I don’t really wear them, they are mostly display so I think as long as your careful it should be OK.

At any rate…Love to hear all the different thoughts. :axe:

Nik makes nice thin copies

Yeah, one thing I really like about Nik’s masks are how even his pulls are. I hate getting latex with a top heavy head and thin spots elsewhere.

Nik uses a great batch of latex and pours it and lets it cure the proper way.

My H78 is thinner then most myers masks I have had. And I LOVE it. It stretches lie it needs to to give of some great H1 and H2 vibes. and even unstuffed on a stand it still looks great. I agree it could tear but do not intend on getting it in any situation wear that will happen. I do like thicker pulls as well especially for things other then H1/2. But this H78 has e sold on getting a second copy about the same thickness painted up H2 so i can display it stuffed next to the h1.

And how thick is “thick”?
How many inches? And how thin is “thin”?

Also, was the mask they used in H8 thick or thin?

Id rather have thin than thick

My thinnest mask to date is my “Dental Records” Ben Tramer replica. It may not be a Myers…but it’s what I consider to be one of my MOST screen accurate masks to date. So, my vote is THIN (Hint Hint to whom I have a large Kirk order with  )

I love stuffing it for my liking.

Anyway, I agree with WarLock. Thin just fits better. You don’t want to walk around with a brick on your head.
You’ll sweat your balls off that way.

JONG.

well…for a myers or kirk h1/h2 all i want is thin…same with h3.

I dont care if the mask will be worn or displayed, they look way better thin.
